Recently the police department was made aware of a lottery scam.

Residences in the city are receiving notification from ‘FREEDOM INTERNATIONAL LOTTO” (Amsterdam, Netherlands) that they have WON the Freedom Sweepstakes Lottery / Free Lotto Promotion Program.

They explain that “$95,000.00 WILL BE REMITTED TO YOUR DESIGNATED ACCOUNT.” And a check for $1,998.00 is enclosed to help you pay the taxes. 

BUT………. If you deposit that check into your bank account all your account and necessary routing numbers are revealed to the people who sent you the check.

That check will eventually “BOUNCE” and then your headaches will just begin.

There is a telephone number for you to call, however when you call you discover that it is not a working number. 

If anyone sends you any type of communication that you didn’t ask for, be leery.

But if the communication is from out of the country, then they are probably just after the good old American dollar. Make sure that dollar isn’t yours.
