  • On Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 01:49 AM, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle being operated by a suspended driver. The vehicle also had an equipment violation. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted. Devin J. Williams, age 22 of Lorain, was cited for Possession of Marijuana, Non-Compliance Suspension and License Plate Light.


  • On Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 01:51 AM, an officer was stopped at the intersection of Park Avenue and Church Street. The officer observed a vehicle travel through the intersection to the north of his vehicle without stopping at the posted stop sign. The driver of the vehicle drove through the intersection at approximately 15 mph, never slowing down. Due to the violation, the officer immediately pulled out and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle as it pulled into a parking space in front of a business on Park Ave. Upon making contact with the operator, the officer observed the male exhibited signs of being under the influence of alcohol. An investigation was conducted and Stephen Zsigray, age 24 of Lorain, was charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Driving Under Suspension, Stop Sign Violation, No Seat Belt, Open Container and Consumption in a Motor Vehicle.


  • On Saturday, March 29, 2014 at approximately 03:50 AM, officers were dispatched to a residence on Crownhill Avenue in regards to a male that rang the doorbell three times then left walking towards the cemetery. Upon arrival, the officer observed a male walking out of the cemetery who appeared very unsteady on his feet. The officer approached the subject and detected a strong odor of an intoxicating beverage coming from his person and he appeared extremely confused. An investigation was conducted and Jesse Bender, age 21 of Amherst, was charged with Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.


  • On Saturday, March 29, 2014, at approximately 04:31 PM, an officer on patrol observed two suspicious people in the Amherst Plaza on Cooper Foster Park Road. After making contact with the two people, they were identified and found to both have active warrants through other police agencies. The two people were also found to be in possession of stolen items from various stores in the immediate area. An investigation was conducted and Marcus Hall, age 38 of Lorain, and Cynthia Shibley, age 34 of Lorain, were both charged with Theft (three counts) and Possession of Criminal Tools.
