News Releases

Hello - I am the public affairs director for Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh.  She currently is working on an initiative to strengthen Ohio's DUI laws by requiring that repeat drunk drivers take either a breathalyzer or blood alcohol level test.  See the attached information for background.

Prosecutor Walsh has been working with Sen. Grendell to include in his DUI bill language that would require this testing.  Currently, repeat offenders often refuse a breathalyzer test because the only consequence is losing their license.  For most of these repeat offenders, their license has already been suspended, so it really doesn't matter.

We are trying to drive Ohio residents to our website to vote on how we should strengthen the law.

We appreciate your consideration and assistance and would also welcome your thoughts on this initiative.  Please feel free to call me if you have any questions.
