On Sunday, September 7, 2008, at approximately 1:19am, officers were dispatched to the area of Cleveland Avenue near Central Drive in reference to an injury accident where the vehicle had struck a telephone pole and had come to rest vertically in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers observed the vehicle in question with a large amount of front end damage and the driver, Roberto Horvath, age 31 of Lorain, sitting in the yard. An investigation was conducted and Mr. Horvath was transported to the Amherst Hospital for treatment. Mr. Horvath was later arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, and Failure to Control. | |

On Sunday, September 7, 2008, at approximately 3:13pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim who advised his wife, Cristin Brooks, age 20 of Amherst, became highly upset with him and started to strike him with her fists and household items. An investigation was conducted and a warrant was issued for Mrs. Cristin Brooks. The next day, Mrs. Brooks turned herself in. She was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence. | |

On Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 5:25pm, officers were dispatched to the Giant Eagle Pharmacy, Kresge Drive, in reference to a female attempting to pick up a forged prescription. Upon arrival, the officers located the female, Tina Glemza, age 32 of Lorain, quickly walking out of the store. She was stopped and and an investigation was conducted. Ms. Glemza was arrested and charged with Deception to Obtain a Dangerous Drug, Tampering with Drugs, Identity Fraud, Drug Paraphernalia, and Drug Abuse. | |

On Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at approximately 7:50pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on South Main Street in reference to an assault complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim who advised he was assaulted by his the neighbor, Theodore Aguayo, age 21. An investigation was conducted and a warrant was issued for Mr. Aguayo. The next day, Mr. Aguayo turned himself in. He was arrested and charged with Assault. | |

On Thursday, September 11, 2008, at approximately 2:58am, officers were dispatched to the back patio of the Church Street Bar and Grill, Church Street, in reference to an intoxicated male that had passed out at that location. Upon arrival the officers met with the male, Robert Kozar, age 39 of Amherst, who was sitting in the gravel next to the patio. He was unable to stand and was slurring his words to the point that he was not making any sense. The officers observed a very strong odor of intoxicating beverage coming from Mr. Kozar and his eyes appeared very red and glassy. Mr. Kozar stated that he was very close to having a seizure and that he would like medical attention. LifeCare Ambulance was contacted and transported him to the Amherst Hospital for treatment. Mr. Kozar was later issued a citation for Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, and Disorderly Conduct Persisting. | |

On Thursday, September 12, 2008, at approximately 12:08am, an officer, while on patrol on Cleveland Avenue near North Leavitt Road, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its lane of travel and cross over the double yellow lines to the left side of the vehicle several times. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Franker Carper, age 59 of North Canton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Weaving, Marked Lanes, and BAC over .08%. | |

On Friday, September 12, 2008, at 11:35pm, an officer was dispatched to a possible injury accident involving a truck that had flipped on North Main St. near the north city limits. Upon arrival, the officer noticed a vehicle lying on its side on off the side of the roadway. The officer also noticed a male unsteadily walking around the area of the truck talking on his cell phone. Contact was made with the male and an investigation was conducted. The male, Bret Schuster, age 26 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Failure to Control, Drug Abuse; Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia. | |

On Saturday, September 13, 2008, at approximately 12:46am, an officer, while on patrol on North Lake Street near West Martin Street, observed a vehicle weaving within its lane of travel. At one point, the vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right of the vehicle and nearly traveled into the ditch to the right of the roadway. The vehicle also crossed over the double yellow lines in the center of the roadway, to the left of the vehicle several times. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Karhryn Tardio, age 26 of Lorain was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Weaving, and Marked Lanes. | |

On Saturday, September 13, 2008, at 1:54am, an officer, while on patrol on Tenney Avenue near the back alley behind Church Street Bar, noticed a small group of people standing around a male that was lying face down on the ground in the alley not moving. As the officer pulled into the alley, a male, Scott Osburn, age of 22 of Amherst, walked in front of the cruiser and began yelling to the officer " No, No, don't." Mr. Osburn was making hand gestures to quit and refused to move from the front of the cruiser in an attempt to prevent it from getting into the alley. He the walked to the driver's side door and stood in front of it. The officer was able to get out of the cruiser and conducted an investigation. Mr. Osburn was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, and Misconduct at an Emergency. |
