On Sunday, September 2, 2007, at approximately 1:48am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of North Leavitt Road and Cleveland Avenue, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its lane of travel, and crossed over the double line to the left side of the vehicle several times. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Orlando Gonzalez, age 36 of Elyria, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Marked Lanes, BAC over .08%, and Weaving. | |

On Sunday, September 2, 2007, at approximately 4:42am, officers were dispatched to a residence on High Meadow Road in reference to an unwanted male. Upon arrival, officers met with the complainant who advised a male, Jason Martinez, age 18 of Lorain, attempted to gain entry to the residence by opening a window. After being caught in the act, Martinez was advised to leave the residence which he failed to do. An altercation ensued with a juvenile female at the residence and Martinez eventually left on foot. The homeowner requested Assault and Criminal Trespass charges to be filed on Martinez. A warrant was issued for his arrest. | |

On Thursday, September 6, 2007, at 12:29am, an officer, while on patrol in the downtown area near Park Lanes, was approached by an off duty police officer with another police agency who advised he witnessed a male inside of Ziggy's bar in possession of marijuana. Contact was made with the male in question, David Bright, age 24 of Amherst, and an investigation was conducted. Mr. Bright was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana. | |

On Saturday, September 8, 2007, at approximately 2:45am, officers, while on patrol in the downtown area, observed an altercation between a large group of individuals in front of Ziggy's Bar. An investigation followed and officers made arrangements for a ride for the intoxicated individuals. One male, identified as Jacob Drost, age 24 of Oberlin, was advised several times by all officers to refrain from yelling and cursing. Mr. Drost continued after several warnings and was cited for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication. | |

On Saturday, September 8, 2007, at approximately 5:29am, officers were dispatched to a residence on Tropicana in reference to a 911 hang up call. Upon arrival, officers were advised a male, identified as Anthony Scarpitti, age 38 of Amherst, threatened household members and had drugs on his person. An investigation was conducted and Mr. Scarpitti was arrested for Disruption of Public Service, Domestic Violence, Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana. | |

On Saturday, September 8, 2007, at 10:35pm, an officer, while working a special security detail for a wedding reception at St. Joseph's Church Social Hall, observed two females arguing. An investigation was conducted and one female, Mariam Lee, age 30 of Lorain, began to yell and curse at the officer. While attempting to arrest Ms. Lee, she resisted and kicked the officer. Ms. Lee finally taken into custody and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Assault on a Police Officer. |
