On Sunday, September 21, 2008, at 1:23am, an officer, while on patrol in City Lot #3, observed a vehicle with its engine running and lights off. Approximately one hour prior, the same vehicle was observed in the same parking space with its engine running. The officer approached the vehicle and attempted to make contact with a male in the drivers seat, Jeremy Drwal, age 36 of Amherst. Mr. Drwal was not responding to the officer and he appeared to be highly intoxicated as a strong odor of intoxicating beverage and the odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Several attempts were made to awaken him with negative results. As the officer attempted to turn off the ignition, Mr. Drwal suddenly awoke and made a sudden movement forward and grabbed the officer’s arm. An investigation was conducted and Mr. Drwal was arrested and charged with Physical Control of a Motor Vehicle, BAC over .170%, and Drug Abuse Marijuana. | |

On Sunday, September 21, 2008, at approximately 1:33am, an officer, while on patrol on South Main Street near Copper Creek, observed a vehicle traveling at a very high rate of speed and weaving from one side of the roadway and back to the other side of the roadway. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, Scott Mace, age 49 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Weaving, and Marked Lanes. | |

On Sunday, September 21, 2008, at 12:19pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Franklin Street in reference to a male threatening to kill his soon to be ex-wife. While officers were enroute to the residence, the male, David, Meyers, age 40 of Lorain, showed up at the house. Upon arrival, the officers took the male into custody and an investigation was conducted. The caller, Shelby Meyers, stated her husband David Meyers was arguing on the phone and threatened to kill her. Mr. Meyer was arrested and charged with Aggravated Menacing and Domestic Violence. | |

On Sunday, September 21, 2008, at approximately 2:10pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Church Street in reference to a juvenile being assaulted by another juvenile. Upon arrival, the officer was learned that the fight was between juvenile brothers, ages 13 and 15. An investigation was conducted and the 13 year old male was arrested and charged Domestic Violence, Aggravated Menacing and Attempted Felonious Assault. | |

On Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at approximately 4:36pm, an officer was dispatched to Church Street Bar and Grille, Church Street, in reference to a stolen bike complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the involved parties, who were arguing, and separated them. An investigation was conducted and a 14 year old male was charged with Theft, Trespass and Unruly Juvenile. | |

On Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at approximately 6:50pm, an officer was dispatched to the front parking lot of the Amherst Police Department in reference to a protection order violation. Upon arrival, the officer was met by Andrew Feakins, age 40 of Amherst, and his soon to be ex-wife and it was learned that Mr. Feakins violated their protection order. An investigation was conducted and Mr. Feakins was arrested and charged with Violation of Protection Order. | |

On Friday, September 26, 2008, at 1:08am, officers were dispatched to Church Street Bar and Grille, Church Street, in reference to a disturbing the peace complaint. Upon arrival, the officers noticed several parties leave the patio area abruptly after noticing police presence. One of those parties was later identified as Ashley Mitchell, age 20 of Amherst. An investigation was conducted and Ms. Mitchell was issued a citation for Underage Consumption. | |

On Friday, September 26, 2008, at approximately 1:57am, an officer, while on patrol on North Ridge Road near Linn Road, observed a vehicle traveling at what appeared to be a speed greater than that of the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver Grant Penson, age 22 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Speed, and Loud Exhaust. | |

On Friday, September 26, 2008, at 10:47am, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Party Shop, South Main Street, in reference to one of Pepsi machines being broken into and coins possibly stolen. Upon arrival, the officer met with the owner who advised one of his employee's had witnessed a male who was sticking something into the machine, getting it to release the money. A description of the male was obtained and he was later found and identified as Jonathon A. Block, age 18 of Amherst. Mr. Block was arrested and charged with Criminal Damaging, Tampering with Coin Machines, and Petty Theft. | |

On Friday, September 26, 2008, at approximately 10:56pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Franklin Avenue, in reference to an assault that took place at Church Street Bar and Grill, Church Street. Upon arrival, the officers met with the victim who was bleeding from his nose and mouth. He advised a male, Matthew Rainey, age 21 of Amherst, punched him while at the bar. An investigation was conducted and Mr. Rainey was later located and arrested and charged with Felonious Assault. | |

On Saturday, September 27, 2008, at 2:46am, an officer, while on patrol on Cleveland Avenue near Park Avenue, observed a vehicle negotiate a wide right turn causing the vehicle to travel left of center. The driver then stopped in the middle of the intersection for a couple of seconds and swerved back into it's lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Juan Ramos, age 23 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Marked Lanes, and Weaving. |
