On Sunday, October 5, 2008, at approximately 2:18am, an officer, while on patrol downtown, observed a male who was attempting to fight another male that was walking away. The male, identified as Christopher Schoen, age 27 of Amherst, continued to harass and made threatening statements to the other male. Mr. Schoen was apprehended before a fight ensued and issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication. | |

On Sunday, October 5, 2008, at approximately 11:38pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Elyria Avenue to speak to a juvenile female who stated that her mother had just beaten her up. Upon arrival, the officers met with the 16 year old complainant, who had visible injuries to her face. An investigation was conducted and the mother, Michelle Kitchen, age 36 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence. | |

On Monday, October 6, 2008, at 9:47am, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Mill Street in reference to a missing 15 year old male juvenile. Upon arrival, the officer met with the mother who advised that she argued with her son and advised him several times to go to his room. She stated that he finally complied and went to his room, but a short time later she was informed that he had left the residence. An investigation was conducted and, a short time later, the juvenile was located and cited for Unruly Child. | |

On Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at approximately 4:21pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to an unruly juvenile complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who advised that her son skipped school and did not have her permission to do so. She advised this was the eleventh time this school year that her son has missed school and she would like to request to file unruly charges. An investigation was conducted and the juvenile was cited for Unruly Juvenile. | |

On Friday, October 10, 2008, at approximately 1:58am, an officer, while on patrol on South Main Street near Middle Ridge Road, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, Christopher Burns, age 23 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, and Weaving. | |

On Saturday, October 11, 2008, at approximately 1:10am, an officer, while on patrol downtown, observed a vehicle back out of a parking spot on Church Street and bump into another vehicle. The officer caught up to the vehicle and observed it swerve to the right nearly striking the curb to the right side of the vehicle while turning the corner. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, Dana Santiago-Torres, age 30 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, and Failure to Control. |
