On Sunday, October 26, 2008, at approximately 1:36am, an officer, while on patrol on Mill Avenue and Tenney Avenue, observed a vehicle turn onto Tenney Avenue spinning the back tires causing the back of the vehicle to fish tail. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Benjamin Buchs, age 37 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC, Reckless Operation, and Lighted Lights. | |

On Sunday, October 26, 2008, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Westchester Drive in reference to a runaway juvenile. Upon arrival, the officer met with the parents who stated their 14 year old daughter left the residence without permission and was last seen running southbound on Westchester. The incident started when the juvenile was refused the use of her cell phone which her parents have control over. An investigation was conducted and the juvenile female was located. She was cited for Unruly Child Runaway. | |

On Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at approximately 4:32pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to an unruly juvenile complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the mother who advised her 15 year old son is out of control and continues to do whatever he wants to do, despite what he is told. She advised that last night her son stole her car and went joy riding with it and that today he skipped school and is now missing. She also said he used her credit card without her knowledge. An investigation was conducted and the juvenile was located. He was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License, Curfew, and Unruly Child. | |

On Friday, October 31, 2008, at approximately 3:46am, officers were dispatched to Denny's, North Leavitt Road, in reference to several intoxicated people who needed to be escorted out. An investigation was conducted the female, Darla Bailey, age 33 of Lorain, was found to be intoxicated and attempted to hide her true identity. Ms. Bailey, was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication. | |

On Friday October 31, 2008, at approximately 9:46pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Mill Street in reference to a domestic violence complaint between mother and 15 year old son. Upon arrival, officers learned the juvenile son had taken off from the house on foot. He was subsequently located and brought back to the scene. An investigation was conducted and it was learned that the juvenile was not listening to what his mother had told him to do, and an argument ensued. The juvenile was charged with Domestic Violence and Unruly Child. He was admitted to the Turning Point Shelter. | |

On Saturday, November 1, 2008, at approximately 3:58am, an officer stopped to assist a Lorain County Sheriff's Deputy who was on a traffic stop at Middle Ridge Road and Brennan Drive. The officer was advised by the Deputy that he had observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop. The deputy also advised he had observed a very strong odor of intoxicating beverage coming from the driver of the vehicle, Peter Boden, age 27 of Amherst. The officer approached the vehicle and conducted an investigation. Mr. Boden was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08 %, Drug Paraphernalia, and Drug Abuse Marijuana. |
