On Sunday, October 22, 2006, at approximately 12:57am, officers responded to Ziggy's Sports Pub and Grill, Park Avenue, in reference to a male and a female fighting in the parking lot to the north of the business. After an investigation, it was determined that the 16 year old juvenile female was the primary aggressor and the male was defending himself.  It was also learned that the two are boyfriend and girlfriend and that the male was attempting to get the juvenile to go home.  The juvenile was observed to have a very strong odor of intoxicating beverage coming from her person when she spoke.  She admitted to having consumed several beers before she had arrived at this location.  The juvenile was charged with Underage Consumption, Unruly Child, Curfew Violation, Disorderly Conduct, and Prohibition Tobacco Products.  She was picked up by her mother at the scene.

On Sunday, October 22, 2006, at 6:04 pm, on officer was dispatched Milan Avenue in reference to a vehicle that had been broken into.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the complaint who advised that the passenger side window to her vehicle had been broken out while parked at the Eagles club on Milan Avenue.  She also advised her purse was taken from the vehicle.  She stated her purse was black in color and was shoved underneath the passenger side seat.  An investigation is pending.

On Sunday, October 22, 2006, at approximately 6:55pm, officers were dispatched to Motel 6, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a robbery.  Officers were advised the suspect fled the scene to the west and had a gun.  Upon arrival into the area officers, with the assistance of the Lorain Police Department, were unable to find the suspect.  The Motel 6 clerk advised that the male made away with some money in numerous bills and change.  It was learned the male flashed a small handgun, possible a 9mm at the clerk.  The clerk describes the suspect as being a light skinned black male, approximately 6' tall and slender build.  The suspect had a mustache and wore a gray hooded sweatshirt with dark blue jeans.  The suspect had the hoodie on and tied up around his face covering most of it.  The clerk also noticed a white T-shirt under his sweatshirt.  It was later learned that an eye-witness observed the suspect flee the scene in vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle was reported to be a white male with blonde hair.  The incident was referred to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

On Monday, October 23, 2006, at 3:23pm, an officer was dispatched to Dairy Mart, Cleveland Avenue, in reference to a theft complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the complainant who stated his bike was gone when he came out of school at Marion L. Steele, Washinginton Avenue.  The bike was described as a black in color, BMX-type bike with four black foot pegs and had GT on the frame. A report was filed on the incident.

On Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at 4:17pm, officers were dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive, in reference to a theft complaint.  An investigation was conducted and it was learned that two unidentified suspects were observed leaving the store with merchandise which they did not pay for. The stores security camera recorded the incident and a license plate number was obtained from the get away vehicle. The incident was referred to the Detective Bureau and an investigation is pending.

On Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at approximately 6:05pm, an officer was dispatcher to Bob Evans Restaurant, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a female who advised she was threatened while at Denny’s restaurant.  Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the female complainant who advised she received poor service while at Denny's and was threatened by one of the employee's.  After an investigation, it was learned there was no threat of violence toward the female and therefore no charges warranted.  The female was advised to contact the district manager for Denny's and the Better Business Bureau to lodge a complaint.  Denny's advised they would handle the incident internally.

On Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at approximately 2:15pm, an officer was dispatched to Shupe School, Shupe Avenue, in reference to a private property hit skip accident.  The striking vehicle had fled the area without being seen. Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim and observed the damaged vehicle.  The driver side rear door had been smashed in and there was damage to the rear of the driver side door.  There are no suspects at this time.  A report was made for file.

On Thursday, October 26, 2006, at 5:15pm, an officer was dispatched to Milan Avenue in reference to a juvenile assault complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the juvenile and his mother.  It was learned that the juvenile was involved in a fight with an unknown juvenile male at the intersection of Axtell Street and Cornell Avenue after dismissal at Marion L Steele High School.  The juvenile had some redness and swelling to the left side of his head, but did not require medical treatment.  The mother did not wish to pursue charges. A report was made for file.

On Thursday, October 26, 2006, at approximately 10:35pm, officers were dispatched to Amherst Cinema, Church Street, in reference to an assault complaint.  According to information given by a witness, a female was being assaulted by another female in the parking lot.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Carol Hoover, age 40 of Elyria, inside Church Street Bar and Grill with injuries to her head and face.  The extremely intoxicated victim would not provide any information about her assailant. She shouted obscenities at officers and would not cooperate with the investigation. Ms. Hoover was taken to Amherst Hospital by Lifecare for treatment and later arrested for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Thursday, October 26, 2006 at approximately 11:25pm, an officer observed a vehicle commit several moving traffic violations and a traffic stop was conducted.  The officer approached the driver, later identified as Kelly Ann Pae, age 22 of Fairview Park, and could detect a very strong odor of intoxicating beverage emanating from the interior of the vehicle.  An investigation was completed and it was determined that Ms. Pae exhibited signs of being intoxicated.  Ms. Pae was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Driving in Marked Lanes, Stop Sign, Signals Before Changing Course, Failure to Control, and BAC over .170.

On Friday, October 27, 2006, at 4:46pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to a theft complaint.  The complainant reported that $322.00 was withdrawn from her bank account utilizing her debit card. After investigating, it was learned that two people knew her personal identification number. An investigation pending at this time.
