On Sunday, October 19, 2008, at approximately 1:55am, an officer, while on patrol on Milan Avenue, observed a vehicle cross over the double yellow lines to the left side of the vehicle several times and strike the curb to the right side of the vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Drew Werley, age 21 of Toledo, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Marked Lanes, and Weaving.

On Sunday, October 19, 2008, at approximately 3:32am, officers were dispatched to Denny's, North Leavitt Road, in reference to an intoxicated male causing a disturbance and needing to be escorted out.  Upon arrival, the male was found to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance.  The male failed to comply with a lawful order and was persistent in that matter.  Phillip Atkinson, age 25 of Lorain, was arrested for Aggravated Menacing, Disturbing The Peace, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Sunday, October 19, 2008, at approximately 3:40am, an officer, while out at Denny’s, North Leavitt Road, observed a vehicle exiting the wrong way out of the parking lot.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver,  Scott Yates, age 49 of Wellington, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, and Turning at Intersections.

On Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at 1:00am, an officer, while on patrol on Elyria Avenue and Middle Ridge Road, observed a vehicle weaving within it's lane of travel and drive onto the center double yellow line.  Due to this and several other violations, a traffic stop was initiated.  The driver, Johnathan Phinney, age 25 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08, Stop Sign, Weaving, and Marked Lanes.

On Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at 11:26pm, an officer, while on patrol on North Main Street near the north city limits, observed a vehicle weaving within it's lane of travel.  The vehicle's tires also touched both the white edge line and center double yellow line on multiple occasions. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, Jose Morell, age 52 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Marked Lanes, Weaving.

On Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 12:56am, an officer was dispatched to the area of State Route 2 and North Leavitt Road in reference to a possible intoxicated driver.  The witness advised the vehicle was all over the road, and that he has never seen driving that bad.  The witness further advised the vehicle exited SR 2 and traveled northbound and onto Kresge Drive.  The officer located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.  An investigation was conducted and the driver, Gregory Kane, age 31 of Elyria, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, and BAC over .170%.

On Thursday, October 23, 2008, at approximately 3:14pm, an officer was dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive, in reference to a theft of drugs complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the loss prevention representative who advised one of their employees from the pharmacy was acting suspicious.  He also advised they have recently logged losses with some of their pharmaceutical products.  Regarding this, he stated he interviewed the employee, Breanta Bennett, age 21 of Vermilion, and gained a confession for theft.  Ms. Bennett was charged with Theft of Dangerous Drugs.

On Thursday, October 23, 2008, at approximately 11:40pm, an officer, while on patrol downtown in front of Church Street Bar and Grille, located a male who was intoxicated and causing a disturbance.  An investigation was conducted and the male, Anthony Digiandominico, age 22 of Amherst, was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and Disturbing the Peace.

On Saturday, October 25, 2008, at approximately 2:14am, an officer, while on patrol downtown on the corner of Park Avenue and Church Street, observed a male displaying obscene gestures at him.  An investigation was conducted and the male Travis Deleon, age 21 of Amherst, issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.
