On Sunday, October 15, 2006, at 6:29pm, officers were on patrol in the area of Cooper Foster Park Road and Amchester Drive. While on patrol, a male, later identified as Michael Demarco, age 50 of Lorain, was observed to have taken a drink from an alcoholic beverage container. An investigation followed and Mr. Demarco was cited for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and Open Container. | ||

On Sunday, October 15, 2006, at approximately 8:10pm, an officer, while on patrol, located an abandoned bicycle behind the storage containers at Drug Mart, North Leavitt Road. The bicycle, a blue on gray Next 18 speed boys mountain bike with a cable lock wrapped around the base of the seat, was taken to the city storage facility. | ||

On Monday, October 16, 2006, at approximately 6:50pm, an officer was dispatched to the Football Field House parking lot at Marion L. Steele High School in reference to a criminal damaging to vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the vehicle owner and his 16 year old son. It was learned an unknown person had punctured both right side tires on his vehicle, which had been parked on the west side of the parking lot. Each tire appeared to have been punctured by a small knife or pick. At this time there are no suspects. The owner and son were advised to contact the department if they learned of any possible suspects. |

On Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at 1:41pm, officers were dispatched to North Main Street in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Officers spoke to the complainant who stated his 14 year old step son had used a device to shock his two 6 year old twin children. Prior to the complainants arriving at home, the juvenile suspect told the two smaller children not to tell adults of the incident or they would be shocked again. The juvenile male suspect was taken into custody and charged with domestic violence and intimidation of a witness. The Juvenile was accepted into the Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home. | ||

On Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at 3:22pm, officers were in the area of Powers Elementary School in reference to a possible fight between juvenile males. While speaking to several juveniles in the area, an officer observed a red in color bicycle laying on the ground by the basketball courts. All of the juveniles denied possession of the bicycle and most stated the bike had been there for several days. The bike is a red in color Huffy Baron 26 inch mountain type bike. The bike was taken to the city storage facility. | ||

On Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at approximately 5:10pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to found property. Upon arrival, the officer met with a male who advised he found a bike at the library in the bushes. The bike is a red and silver NEXT BMX style boy’s bike. The bike was taken to the city storage facility. | ||

On Thursday, October 19, 2006, at 2:19pm, officers were dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to a misuse of credit card complaint. Officers spoke to the complainant who stated she believes she lost her credit card and an unidentified suspect had used the card. The complainant was informed by the credit card company that three purchases were made on the card shortly after she lost it. An investigation is pending. | ||

On Friday, October 20th, 2006, at approximately 2:42am, an officer was dispatched to the area of North Leavitt Road and Cooper Foster Park Road for a road rage complaint. The officer located the vehicle in question and effected a traffic stop. An investigation followed and it was determined that the problems started between both parties at a bar in Cleveland and that this is an ongoing situation between two of the males. Both males were advised to stay away from each other. No charges were requested at this time. | ||

On Friday, October 20, 2006, at 3:08pm, an officer initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle for several violations. The vehicle then fled from this officer and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The vehicle was involved in a traffic accident and the vehicle operator ran from the scene. An investigation was conducted and a warrant was issued for the suspect. |
