On Sunday, October 11, 2009, at approximately 2:22am, officers, while on patrol downtown, observed a male yelling in the direction of two police officers near Church Street and Park Avenue.  The male was stumbling and yelling curse words causing a disturbance.  An investigation was conducted and the male, Jake Williams, age 21 of Vermilion, was arrested for Disturbing the Peace and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Sunday, October 11, 2009, at approximately 2:41am, an officer, while on patrol downtown, observed a male and a female in front of Jonezy's Tattoo, Park Avenue, pushing each other in what appeared to me to be a physical altercation.  When the two observed the police cruiser heading in their direction they began to walk northbound on Church Street.  Officers stopped the male and the female and conducted an investigation.  Sarah Wilburn, age 20 of Amherst, was arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, Obstructing Official Business, Possession of Marijuana, Paraphernalia, Underage Consumption, Resisting Arrest, and Assault on a Police Officer.

On Sunday, October 11, 2009, at 12:07pm, an officer was dispatched to Cherry Valley Drive in reference to a neighbor observing two males running southbound from a garage on Shadylawn Drive. The complainant advised it appeared that the two males took a case of beer from the garage and one of the males was concealing it with a red jacket.  Upon arrival into the area, the officer observed the males in question and ordered then to stop.  Both males were taken into custody and an investigation was conducted.  Brett Hanchin, age 20 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft, Underage Possession and or Consumption of Alcohol, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.  The other male, age 17, was transported to the Amherst Police Department and cited into the Lorain County Juvenile Court for Burglary, Theft, and Underage Possession and or Consumption of Alcohol.

On Tuesday, October 13, 2009, officers were dispatched to a residence on Milan Avenue in reference to a juvenile complaint.  Upon arrival, officers spoke to school officials and a counselor who stated the 14 year old juvenile male had made threats towards another student and refused to listen to or obey his parent's while at the school.  The juvenile male was charged with Aggravated Menacing and Unruly Juvenile and transported to the Lorain County Detention Home.

On Thursday, October 15, 2009, officers were dispatched to the area of North Leavitt Road and State Route 2 in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. Several calls were received concerning the vehicle and its operation.  The vehicle in question stopped at a traffic light and a male passerby retrieved the keys due to the driver having passed out.  Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation and  Michelle  Blazer, age 39 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, and Fictitious Plates.

On Friday, October 16, 2009, at 2:16am, an officer, while on patrol in City Parking Lot #1, observed a vehicle negotiate a u-turn in the middle of Church Street.   A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Shane Reed, age 23 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, and U-turn Restricted.
