On Sunday, November 9, 2008, at approximately 2:32am, officers were dispatched to Church Street Bar and Grill, Church Street, in reference to a group of people in the establishment that were causing a problem and refusing to leave.  Upon arrival, the officers met with the manager who advised the group of people causing the disturbance had left and were presently leaving the area in several vehicles.  The manager also advised that two of the involved parties were intoxicated and stated that he had advised them that they should not drive.  A vehicle description was given and officers located the vehicle traveling on Cleveland Avenue.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Beth Serfoze, age 37 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Turn Signal, and Marked Lanes.

On Sunday, November 9, 2008, at 6:59pm, an officer was dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive, in reference to a drug abuse complaint.  Dispatch advised that they received a call about a male and female that were smoking marijuana in a vehicle in the parking lot.  Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle and an investigation was conducted.  The 17 year old male occupant was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia and Unruly Juvenile and transported to the Detention Home. The 16 year old female occupant was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at 4:46pm, officers were dispatched to Motel 6, North Leavitt Road in reference to an intoxicated male causing a disturbance.  Upon arrival, the officer learned the male, Robert Kozar, age 45 of Lakewood,    and was in the lobby in his underwear banging on the glass window.  The officers were at the motel two times earlier for complaints about Mr. Kozar also.  As a result of this third call involving Mr. Kozar, he was charged with Disturbing the Peace, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication, and Disorderly Conduct Persisting.

On Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at approximately 3:58pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to an assault complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer met with a female who stated her 11 year old son was assaulted on the playground at Nord School by another boy.  An investigation was conducted and juvenile involved was issued a citation for Assault and Unruly Juvenile.  He was also suspended from school by the principal.

On Friday, November 14, 2008, at approximately 1:41am, officers were dispatched to Church Street Bar and Grill, Church Street, in reference to a fight at the rear patio.  Upon arrival, a large group of people were observed and a male being restrained by two other males.  An investigation was conducted and the male involved, Martin Krzemienieswki, age 22 of Elyria, was cited for Disorderly Conduct; Intoxication.

On Friday, November 14, 2008, at approximately 8:35pm, an officer, while on patrol on North Leavitt Road near State Route 2, observed a vehicle traveling with a noisy muffler.  It was also learned by a registration check through LEADS, that the owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Ryan Parker, age 19 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle after Alcohol Consumption, Driving under Suspension, Underage Consumption, and Loud Muffler.

On Friday, November 14, 2008, at approximately 11:44pm, an officer, while on patrol on Cleveland Avenue near Washington Street, observed a vehicle cross over the double yellow lines to the left side of the vehicle and nearly struck the front of police cruiser 102.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Jared Holbrook, age 27 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Turn Signal, Reckless Operation, and Marked Lanes.

On Saturday, November 15, 2008, at approximately 1:45am, officers were dispatched to a residence on Elyria Avenue in reference to a possible domestic violence complaint.  Upon arrival in the area, the officer observed a female walking away from the residence and she was found to be intoxicated and a possible danger to herself.  An investigation was conducted and the female, Melissa Villafane, age 20 of Amherst, was arrested for Underage Consumption, and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Saturday, November 15, 2008, at approximately 2:31am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of City Lot #1, observed a large group of people in the middle of the parking lot.  The officer stopped to investigate.  During an investigation it was learned that two of the males from the group, who exhibited signs of being intoxicated, had been involved in a physical altercation.  Joseph Podgorski, age 23 of Amherst, and Ryan A. Fortner, age 25 of Amherst, were cited for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.
