On Sunday, November 5, 2006, at approximately 12:15am, while out with an accident at the corner of Cooper Foster Park Road and North Main Street, an officer observed a vehicle travel around the cruiser that was blocking the intersection. The vehicle then headed westbound on Cooper Foster Park Road where there was another accident under investigation. An assisting officer was able to follow the vehicle and observe it weave within its lane of travel and cross over the white line on the right side of the roadway. The officer effected a traffic stop on the vehicle at Premier Toyota, Cooper Foster Park Road. An investigation was conducted and the driver, Dennis Tomusko, age 27 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, B.A.C. over .170%, Expired Plates, Marked Lanes, and Weaving Course. | |

On Sunday, November 5, 2006, at approximately 1:30am, officers were dispatched to a residence on Meadowview Lane in reference to a criminal damaging complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who stated that while he was sitting in his living room, he heard the sound of his front door being kicked in. Aside from the door being forced open, the complainant located a brown bag in front of his door which was on fire. The contents of the bag were later determined to be dog feces. The homeowner stated that he saw two juvenile males running from his front yard and attempted to catch the juveniles but was unsuccessful. He stated that he knew who one of the juveniles was. After an investigation was conducted, two juveniles, ages 17 and 14 were cited for Unruly Juvenile, Curfew, Criminal Damaging, Criminal Mischief and Disturbing the Peace. | |

On Sunday, November 5, 2006, at 8:02pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Virginia Drive in reference to a male inside of the homeowner's shed. It was learned that the shed had been left open and unlocked. Upon the homeowner returning home, he observed a subject inside the shed who fled on foot and was unable to be located. The owner advised his bike was gone. The incident was referred to the Detective Bureau for investigation. | |

On Sunday, November 5, 2006, at approximately 11:13pm, an officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on State Route 2, weaving within its lane of travel. A traffic stop was effected on the vehicle, and an investigation was conducted. The driver, identified as Jacob Lacinak, age 24 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, B.A.C. over .08%, Child Endangering, Weaving Course, and Marked Lanes. Mr. Lacinak also had a warrant for his arrest out of Erie County Sheriff's Department. He was released to their custody. |

On Monday, November 6, 2006, at 12:43pm, an officer, while monitoring the cruiser scanner, heard Lorain Police Department enroute to Super K Mart, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a security guard fighting with a shoplifter near the entry door. The suspect entered a vehicle and left the area. The officer observed the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on North Leavitt Road at a high rate of speed and make numerous traffic violations. The suspect vehicle eventually stopped and the male driver, Joseph Camacho, age 37 of Elyria, was taken into custody by Lorain Police Department. Due to the violations which occurred in the City of Amherst, Camacho was cited into Oberlin Municipal Court for Red Light, Speed, Operating in Willful or Wanton Disregard of Safety, No Drivers License, Hazardous or No Passing Zone, Marked Lanes, Endangering Children 3 counts, and Failure to Comply With Order or Signal of Police Officer. | |

On Monday, November 6, 2006, at 3:00pm, an officer was dispatched to the new construction area of Meadowbrook Drive in reference to a criminal damage complaint. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complainant who located vulgar words spray painted in orange in the roadway. The complainant requested a report be made for his company. | |

On Monday, November 6, 2006, at 3:14pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department lobby in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the juvenile complainant who stated her sister and legal guardian had committed an act of violence against her. The alleged suspect was then contacted. The alleged suspect provided a statement contrary to the juvenile complainant and provided the reason for the altercation between the two. Both parties were advised a copy of the report would be forwarded to prosecutors for possible charges. | |

On Monday, November 6, 2006, at 4:45pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Apple Orchard Lane in reference to a neighbor dispute. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complainant who stated his neighbor threatened his children while they were raking leaves in the backyard. The officer also spoke to the neighbor who advised she did not threaten the children, she only advised them not to dump the leaves on her property. Both parties were advised. A report was made for file. | |

On Monday, November 6, 2006, at approximately 10:45pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Cooper Foster Park Road in reference to a domestic violence complaint. When officers arrived, the female caller was locked in the bathroom. An investigation was conducted and the male, James Mcafee, age 50 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Felony Domestic Violence. | |

On Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at 10:55am, an officer was dispatched to a residence on East Martin Avenue in reference to a theft of money complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who advised he discovered money missing from his wallet and suspects his 15 year old grandson may have taken it. He stated that his grandson is unruly and has stolen from him before. When questioned, the juvenile admitted to the complainant that he took the money. The officer attempted to have the juvenile admitted to the Detention Home, but they refused to admit him. The juvenile was issued a citation for Theft. | |

On Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at 8:24pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police station in reference to a telephone harassment complaint. Upon arrival, an investigation was conducted and it was learned that the complainant has been receiving harassing phone calls from her brother. The officer attempted to locate a contact number for the male with negative results. The complainant did not wish to pursue charges at this time. A report was made for file. | |

On Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at 3:27pm, officers were dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive, in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, officers searched the area for the suspect with negative results. Store security stated a male suspect and female were observed taking items from the store without paying for them. The suspect dropped some of the items stolen outside the store which were recovered. An investigation is pending and has been referred to the Detective Bureau. | |

On Thursday, November 9, 2006, at 3:55pm, officers were dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive, in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, an investigation followed where it was learned that store security had detained a juvenile male for taking merchandise without paying and then leaving the store. The juvenile was cited with Petty Theft and Underage Possession Tobacco. He was released to his aunt. | |

On Friday, November 10, 2006, at approximately 8:13pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Cooper Foster Park Road in reference to a menacing complaint. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated his brother, Richard Nowak, age 38 of Lorain, came to their mother’s house demanding money. The victim stated that he arrived at the house to assist his mother and a physical confrontation occurred between them. Nowak left the residence before officers arrived. An investigation was conducted and warrant was issued for Nowak’s arrest. On Tuesday, November 16, 2006, at 2:00pm, Richard Nowak taken into custody and formally charged with Robbery, Driving Under Suspension, Menacing and Domestic Violence. | |

On Saturday, November 11, 2006, at 6:06pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on North Main Street in reference to a broken window. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who stated while she was away, a window on the side door of her residence was broken. In checking the door, the glass in the storm door was intact, but the window in the door appeared have been broken from the inside of the residence. No entry was gained into the residence. The homeowner requested a report be placed on file. | |

On Saturday, November 11, 2006, at approximately 8:41am, officers were dispatched to a residence on Killdeer Court, in reference to a 911 hang up call. Dispatch advised upon making a return call to the home, arguing was heard in the background between two males. Upon arrival, contact was made with the resident who advised he wanted his adult son removed from the house. An investigation was conducted and it was learned that the males were involved in a minor argument over personal matters. No physical confrontation took place between the two. Both parties decided they would leave each other alone until the son could make other living arraignments. A report was made for file. |
