On Sunday, November 4, 2007, at approximately 2:11am, officers, while on patrol, observed a vehicle in the parking lot of H and R Block, North Leavitt Road, with its headlights on and both doors open.  The officer approached the vehicle and made contact with the occupants.  An investigation was conducted and the driver, Rachael Russo, age 22 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, and BAC over .170%.

On Monday, November 5, 2007, at 7:00pm, officers went to a residence on North Main Street to attempt to serve a warrant on Daniel Emerick, age 27. Upon arrival, Mr. Emerick was placed into custody and a search incident to arrest was conducted of his person.  As a result of the search, Mr. Emerick was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and subsequently cited on both charges.

On Wednesday, November 7, 2007, officers were dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to a vehicular vandalism complaint.  Upon arrival, the officers spoke to the complainant who stated while traveling on State Route 2, another vehicle threw an item onto his vehicle. The complainant was able to provide a vehicle description and license plate number.  An investigation was conducted and the suspect, Craig Shaver, age 38 of New London, was arrested and charged with Vehicular Vandalism.

On Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at approximately 3:07pm, officers were dispatched to the Amherst Junior High School, Milan Avenue in reference to a criminal trespass complaint.  Upon arrival, the officers spoke to the principal and an investigation was conducted.  The juvenile suspect was charged with Criminal Trespass.

On Friday, November 9, 2007, at approximately 2:52M, an officer, while on patrol on South Main Street, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its lane of travel.  Several times the vehicle crossed over the white line to the right side of the vehicle.   A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Gregory Long, age 23 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Weaving and Marked Lanes.

On Saturday, November 11, 2007, officers were dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive, in reference to a theft complaint.  Upon arrival, an investigation was conducted and it was learned that store employees had detained a female shoplifter for taking store merchandise then trying to leave the store after not paying for the items. The female, Donna Goforth, age 48 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Petty Theft.

On Saturday, November 10, 2007, at approximately 12:52am, an officer, while on patrol on downtown, observed a large group of people standing outside of R.C's Brewhouse, Church Street, yelling and carrying on. The officer remained there and continued to observe the group of people.  While sitting there, the officer observed a vehicle pull up behind his cruiser with its turn signal activated.  After several minutes, the vehicle still had not gone around the cruiser.  The officer approached the driver and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Patsy Krause, age 43 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated.
