On Sunday, November 30, 2008, at 2:56pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst VFW, Cleveland Avenue, in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the Commander who advised that on two occasions, a male fraudulently solicited money from the Amherst VFW. After an investigation, Larry Ashworth, age 37 of Elyria, was arrested for two counts of Theft. | |

On Sunday, November 30, 2008 at approximately 9:30pm, an officer was dispatched to Olde Town Pizza, Cleveland Avenue, in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim who advised money was stolen from a purse while she was there working. An investigation was conducted and Katherine May, age 27 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Petty Theft. | |

On Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at approximately 4:41pm, officers were dispatched to the Subway Restaurant, 1903 Cooper Foster Park Road, in reference to an intoxicated male knocking things over. Upon arrival, the male, Timothy McMahon, age 51 of Lorain, was located and an investigation was conducted. Mr. McMahon was cited with Disorderly Conduct. | |

On Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at approximately 3:35pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Cleveland Avenue in reference to a complaint of a male pulling on a female and it appeared that he was going to hit her. Upon arrival, two males and a female were located in the driveway. The younger of the males was flailing his arms about, while a female appeared to have a fearful expression on her face, and was trying to get away from the male. The second male appeared to be keeping the first male from going after the female. An investigation was conducted and Russell Fleming Jr., age 41 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence and Assault. | |

On Saturday, December 6, 2008, at approximately 2:26am, an officer, while on patrol on Church Street and Park Avenue, observed a male making obscene statements towards him. The office approached the male, Brian Jackson, age 25 of North Olmsted, and an investigation was conducted. Mr. Jackson exhibited signs of being intoxicated and was found to in possession of an open container. He proceeded to cause problems during the investigation and was arrested for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, Obstructing Official Business, and Open Container, and was transported to the Lorain County Jail. | |

On Saturday, December 6, 2008, at approximately 11:35pm, an officer, while on patrol on North Main Street and West Martin Street observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its lane of travel and several times operate in the opposite lane of travel. As the vehicle approached Rainbow Drive it was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of travel, at which time it went completely off the left side of the roadway, into the grass, and then re-entered the roadway continuing northbound in the southbound lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Richard Banas, age 52 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Marked Lanes, and Weaving. |
