On Wednesday, December 2, 2009, officers were dispatched to McDonald’s, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a disturbance call.  Upon arrival, the officers met with the juvenile female complainant who advised her boyfriend had, by force, restrained the liberty of the juvenile female victim, broke the juvenile female victim's cell phone, assaulted the juvenile female victim, and attempted to assault another adult male.  The male, Taylor Havanchak, age 18 of Amherst, was located and an investigation was conducted.  Mr. Havanchak was arrested and charged with Abduction, Disrupting Public Service, and two counts of Assault.

On Friday, December 4, 2009, at 12:19am, an officer, while on patrol in the parking lot of Motel 6, North Leavitt Road, performed a random registration check through LEADS on a vehicle parked in the lot.  After receiving the response from LEADS, it was learned the vehicle owner Charity Thorley, age 32 of Castalia, OH, had an active entered warrant for her arrest out of the North Olmsted Police Department.  Officers conducted an investigation and located Ms. Thorley.  She was arrested and charged with Possession of Drugs, Possession of Heroin, Drug Abuse Instrument, and Drug Paraphernalia.

On Saturday, December 5, 2009, at approximately 2:00am, an officer, while on patrol on Cleveland Avenue near Central Drive, observed a vehicle traveling in a reckless manner.  The vehicle was weaving from side to side within its eastbound lane of travel, and appeared to strike the curb to the right side of the vehicle several times.  A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, Kristina Jaworski, age 22 of Elyria, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, Weaving, Marked Lanes, Resisting Arrest, and 2 counts of Assault on a P.O.

On Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 7:38am, an officer was dispatched to a disabled vehicle complaint on Cooper Foster Park Road near North Main Street.  Upon arrival, the officer observed the vehicle and recognized one of the occupants as Jason Reichert, age 32 of Amherst, a male who had an active warrant for assault out of this department.  Mr. Reichert was taken into custody and searched incident to arrest.  A pipe commonly used to smoke crack cocaine was located inside the right front pocket of his jeans.  Mr. Reichert was arrested on the warrant and also charged with Drug Paraphernalia.
