On Sunday, November 25, 2007, at approximately 1:18am, an officer, while on patrol on North Leavitt Road, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its northbound lane of travel.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver Jeffrey Bates, age 37 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating Vehicle While Intoxicated, Driving under Suspension, State Refusal, Weaving, and Marked Lanes.

On Sunday, November 25, 2007, at approximately 3:15am, officers were dispatched to a residence on Rome Beauty in reference to a loud noise and suspicious vehicle complaint.  Upon arrival, an investigation was conducted and three juvenile males were identified as suspects.  One of the juveniles was charged with Complicity to Criminal Damage, Disturbing the Peace, Curfew, and Underage Consumption.  The other two males were identified as being involved and charges will follow.

On Monday, November 26, 2007, at approximately 6:00pm, an officer was dispatched to the Don Tequila Mexican Restaurant, Cooper Foster Park Road, in reference to a male and female that left the restaurant without paying for the food they had consumed.  One of the employees followed the vehicle and obtained an Ohio vehicle registration.  An investigation was conducted and the female, Jacalyn Metelesky, age 20 of Lorain, was later arrested and charged with Theft.

On Monday, November 26, 2007, officers were dispatched to a residence on Rock Creek Run in reference to a domestic violence complaint.  Upon arrival, officers spoke to the juvenile suspect who admitted pushing the complainant.  An investigation was conducted and he juvenile suspect was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Violence. He was later transported to the Lorain County Turning Point.

On Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at 12:42am, officers were at Motel 6 attempting to locate a theft suspect, Jacalyn Metelsky, who had an active warrant out of this department for a theft which occurred on 11/26/07.  A male, identified as Joshua J. Riley, age 26 of Lorain, answered the door and an investigation was conducted.  It was learned that Mr. Riley was named in a protection order protecting Ms. Metelsky from Mr. Riley through Lorain P.D.  Both Ms. Metelsky and Mr. Riley were taken into custody. Mr. Riley was arrested and charged with Violating a Temporary Protection Order.  Ms. Metelsky was arrested on the Theft warrant.

On Thursday November 29, 2007, at approximately 9:32pm, an officer was dispatched to Trinity Evangelical Church, Middle Ridge Road, in reference to an assault complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim and was advised that he had been struck in the head by the suspect, Betty Johnson, age 42 of Lorain.  An investigation was conducted and the victim requested assault charges to be filed.  Ms. Johnson was located and arrested for Assault.

On Thursday, November 29, 2007, at 11:16pm, an officer, while on patrol on Harris Street, noticed a vehicle operating without the required rear license plate light illuminating the rear plate.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Dennis Hoffman, age 47 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, and License Plate Light.

On Friday, November 30, 2007, at 11:55pm, an officer, while on patrol near Park Avenue and Church Street, noticed two employee's from Ziggy's Bar pointing down Church Street and yelling to stop the vehicle traveling southbound on Church Street. The vehicle in question was located and it was learned from the Ziggy’s employee that the driver was causing a disturbance at the bar and was highly intoxicated.   An investigation was conducted and the driver, Michael Saultz, age 40 of Amherst was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, and Safety Belt.

On Saturday, December 1, 2007, at approximately 2:21am, an officer, while on patrol, observed a vehicle shortcut a red light at Cleveland Avenue and Church Street and fail to use their turn signal.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Fritz Green, age 45 of Lorain was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Possession of Cocaine, Driving under Suspension, Safety Belt and Turn Signal.

On Saturday, December 1, 2007, at approximately 4:46am, officers were dispatched to an accident on Lincoln Street.  Upon arrival, the officer observed a vehicle off of the road and down in the culvert at the dead end of the roadway.  An investigation was conducted and the driver, Shelby Bunn, age 46 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated,  Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Resisting Arrest, Destruction of Trees, Reckless Operation, Failure to Control, Disturbing the Peace, and Disorderly Conduct Persisting.
