On Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at approximately 8:17pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to a runaway juvenile.  Upon arrival, the officer with the juvenile’s mother who advised her and her 15 year old son began to argue earlier in the day and he left the residence on foot.   She advised she searched the area and talked to all of his friends, however no one has seen him.  An investigation was conducted and the juvenile was later located.  He was cited for Unruly Child.

On Thursday, November 27, 2008, at 12:03am, an officer, while on patrol on Church Street near the Amherst Cinema, noticed two females walking on the sidewalk in front of the cinema each holding 24 once cans of Miller Lite beer, Contact was made with the females and an investigation was conducted.  Meghan Gray, age 22 of Lorain, and Molly Oflanagan, age 22 of Avon, were issued citations for Open Container.

On Thursday, November 27, 2008, at 12:13am, an officer, while on patrol on Church Street near the Amherst Cinema observed two males exit Church Street Bar and Grill carrying opened 24 ounce cans of beer.  Contact was made with the males and an investigation was conducted.  Kenneth Gunderson, age 22 of Elyria, and Marcus Horey, age 22 of Amherst,   were issued citations for Open Container.

On Thursday, November 27, 2008, at 1:35am, an officer, while on patrol downtown, noticed two males standing outside the back door of Ziggy’s Bar with open containers of Bud Light beer.  The officer asked both males to come to the cruiser, but one of the males immediately went back into the bar to avoid the officer.  The other male, age 21 of Lorain, approached the officer and was issued a citation for Open Container.

On Friday, November 28, 2008, at approximately 5:10pm, an officer was dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive, in reference to a report of a male that had fallen and possibly injured himself in the parking lot and was bleeding.  Upon arrival, the officer met with several employees who were surrounding a male lying on his back with injuries to his face.  An investigation was conducted and LifeCare ambulance arrived and transported the male to the hospital.  The male, Frederick Lockwood, age 50 of Lorain, was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and Open Container.
