On Monday, November 20, 2006, at approximately 12:45am, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Birch Drive in reference to a criminal mischief complaint. Upon arrival, the officer observed that the residence was covered with various household products, including toilet paper and plastic wrap. The officer met with the homeowner who advised that this was not the first time this kind of incident has occurred to her house. The homeowner requested charges against the suspect(s) involved should they be identified. An investigation is pending. | |

On Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at 9:17pm, an officer, while on patrol downtown, noticed a vehicle exiting a parking space and failing to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection of Park Avenue and Church Street. The driver also failed to utilize the vehicle's turn signal and swerved onto the center double yellow line several times. A traffic stop was effected on the vehicle in question for the traffic violations witnessed. After speaking with the driver, Raymond Baraga, age 36 of Lorain, the officer observed him to exhibit signs of being intoxicated. After a further investigation, Mr. Baraga was placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Stop Sign, Turn Signal, and Marked Lanes. | |

On Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at 10:20pm, officers were dispatched to the rear parking lot of RC's Brewhouse, Church Street, in reference to a female who was assaulted by a male. Upon arrival, an officer located a male, later identified as John Carder Jr., age 21 of Amherst, who exhibited signs of being intoxicated and determined he was involved in the fight. After a brief conversation, Carder was placed under arrest and taken into custody. Carder was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, and Resisting Arrest. |

On Thursday, November 23, 2006, at approximately 2:14am, an officer, while patrolling the downtown area, observed a male urinating on the Century Telephone building on Park Avenue. The officer made contact with the male, Patrick Frizell, age 23 of Elyria, and observed a very strong odor of an intoxicating beverage coming from his person when he spoke. A further investigation was conducted and Frizell was charged with Disorderly Conduct Intoxication. | |

On Thursday, November 23, 2006, at 2:43am, an officer, while on patrol in the downtown area, performed a random registration check through LEADS using the Ilincs in-car computer and received a response that the vehicle's owner was under a license suspension. The officer effected a traffic stop on the vehicle and advised the driver, Alan Kokoski, age 44 of Amherst, of the reason that he had been stopped. An investigation was conducted and the officer observed Kokoski to exhibit signs of being intoxicated. Kokoski was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Driving under Suspension, State Refusal, and Possession of Cocaine. | |

On Thursday, November 23, 2006, at approximately 6:18pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Hazel Street in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the male and female involved. An investigation was conducted and it was learned that there was a verbal argument concerning the female’s son who was staying at the residence. Both parties stated that there had been no physical contact between them, only a verbal argument. A report was made for file. | |

On Thursday, November 23, 2006, at 11:55pm, an officer was dispatched to the area of Milan Avenue and Seeley Avenue in reference to a vehicle that struck the Milan Avenue railroad overpass bridge. Upon arrival, the officer noticed the vehicle in question crashed into one of the concrete bridge supports. The officer was approached by a male, later identified as Aaron Cobb, age 20 of Amherst, who advised he was operating the vehicle and lost control on the wet pavement causing the vehicle to strike the bridge support. While speaking with Cobb, the officer noticed he exhibited signs of being intoxicated. Cobb was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle after Underage Alcohol Consumption and Underage Consumption. | |

On Saturday, November 25, 2006, at approximately 2:08am, officers responded to the front of RC's Brewhouse, Church Street, in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was learned that a male spit in a female’s face. Officers spoke to both parties involved and the male, Richard Ramirez, age 25 of Lorain, was released pending further investigation. At 3:10pm that afternoon, the female came to the Amherst Police Department lobby to file charges against Ramirez. A warrant was issued for Assault, Menacing, and Disorderly Conduct. Ramirez turned himself in after being advised of the charges. |
