On Wednesday, November 18, 2009, officers responded to Dairy Mart, Cleveland Avenue, in reference to a shoplifting complaint.  Upon arrival, the officers located Raymond Lucas, age 32 of Amherst, and an investigation was conducted.  During the investigation, Mr. Lucas resisted arrest and refused to comply with officers' commands.  He was arrested and charged with Theft and Resisting Arrest.

On Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 12:20am, an officer, while on patrol in the City Parking Lot #1, observed a vehicle parked in a parking space with the vehicle running and three occupants inside.  The vehicle's lights were turned off and the vehicle was not pulled into the parking space completely, causing the rear bumper of the vehicle to stick out into the area of the parking lot used for travel to exit the lot.  The officer made contact with the occupants and conducted an investigation. The driver, Benjamin Fabri, age 21 of Lorain, was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia.

On Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 12:53am, officers, while parked in City Parking Lot #1, observed a vehicle race the engine and rapidly accelerate causing the tires to squeal on the pavement.  Due to the reckless operation and squealing tires violations, the officer initiated a traffic stop and conducted an investigation.  The driver, Ricardo Hernandez, age 26 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Reckless Operation, Squealing Tires, Driving in Marked Lanes, and Weaving.

On Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 11:48pm, an officer was dispatched to the area of SR 2 westbound just east of SR 58 in reference to a possible intoxicated driver.  Upon arrival into the area, the officer located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.  The vehicle failed to stop immediately and continued to travel westbound in the slow lane.  While behind the vehicle, the officer observed it travel over there white edge line and continue to travel over the line for a short distance.  The driver, Nikki MacArthur, age 24 of Avon, finally stopped and an investigation was conducted.  Ms. MacArthur was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Driving in Marked Lanes, Possession of Heroin, Tampering with Evidence, Drug Abuse Instrument, and Drug Paraphernalia.

On Friday, November 20, 2009, at approximately 3:07am, officers, while on patrol, observed a male who appeared to be passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle in the middle of Tenney Avenue and Forest Street.  The officers approached the vehicle and conducted an investigation.  The driver, Brian Bunevich, age 25 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Stopping After Accident Upon Property Other Than Street, and Stopping Vehicle, Slow Speed, Posted Minimum.

On Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 12:32am, an officer, while on patrol on North Leavitt Road, observed a vehicle operating with a faulty exhaust that was producing excessive noise.  The officer initiated a traffic stop and conducted an investigation.  The driver, Ivelisse Harris, age 25 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Upon Driving Under Suspension, Drug Paraphernalia, Unsafe Vehicle, and Faulty Exhaust.
