On Sunday, May 31, 2009, officers were dispatched to Church Street Bar and Grill in regards to males fighting outside the door.  Upon arrival, officers met with a male involved and conducted an investigation.  Michael Kukucka, age 26 of Amherst, was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication.

On Monday, June 1, 2009, at 4:35pm, officers were dispatched to Ultimate Car Wash, Kresge Drive, in reference to an assault complaint.  Upon arrival, the officers met with the female and male involved and conducted an investigation.  Donald Ritchie, age 21 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at approximately 2:30am, officers were dispatched to the area of State Route 2 and North Leavitt Road in regards to a vehicle that was believed to be driven by an intoxicated person.  Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle in question and a traffic stop was conducted.  The driver, Katherine Bell, age of Lakewood, was arrested and charged with Weaving, Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, and Open Container in a Motor Vehicle.

On Friday, June 5, 2009, at approximately 2:49am, an officer, while on patrol at BP gas station, North Leavitt Road, observed a vehicle parked in an abandoned parking lot and a male seated in the driver’s seat.  The vehicle had fresh grass on the front of the undercarriage of the vehicle and appeared as though the vehicle had been involved in an accident.  The officer approached the vehicle and conducted an investigation.  The driver, Jose Yanez, age 30 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine, Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.

On Friday, June 5, 2009, at 7:54pm, an officer was detailed to Powers School, Washington Street, in regards to a drug complaint.  The caller advised that several juveniles were on school property and one of the juveniles had what appeared to be illegal drugs with them.  Upon arrival, the officer met with a few juveniles seated at a picnic table behind the school and an investigation was conducted.  A 15 year old female was cited for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia and a 16 year old male and 15 year old female were cited for   Possession of Tobacco Products.

On Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 3:15am, an officer, while on patrol on South Leavitt Road and Walnut Drive, noticed a male, Daran McFarland, age 20 of Oberlin, walking in the middle of South Leavitt Road.  Mr. McFarland was very unsteady on his feet while walking and was stumbling and tripping over his feet.  The officer approached the male and conducted an investigation.  Mr. McFarland was issued a citation for Underage Consumption and Walking on a Highway Intoxicated.

On Saturday, June 6, 2009, at approximately 4:01am, an officer observed a vehicle enter the drive thru line at Wendy's, North Leavitt Road, however, the restaurant closes at 1 00am.  The driver of the vehicle sat at the ordering box for approximately one minute, and then pulled forward and sat at the drive thru window for approximately one more minute. The officer approached the driver, Elizabeth Cabot, age 24 of Avon Lake, and conducted an investigation.  Ms. Cabot was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated and BAC over .170%.

On Saturday, June 6, 2009, at approximately 3:40pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Westlake Drive for a burglary complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the homeowner who advised that someone stole her son's bicycle from their attached open garage.  An investigation led to the recovery of the bike and the arrest of a juvenile for Burglary and Theft.

On Saturday, June 6, 2009, officers were dispatched to Ultimate Car Wash, Kresge Drive, in regarding to two males sleeping on the pavement.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the owner who advised the males were sleeping on his property.  The owner advised when the males woke up they immediately asked him for some money.  An investigation was conducted, and it was determined that the two males were intoxicated.  Michael Demarco, age 53 of Lorain, and Paul Lunn, age 47 of Lorain, were issued citations for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.
