On Sunday, May 27, 2007, at approximately 1:04am, an officer, while on patrol, observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the corner of the Amherst Library parking lot without headlights on.  As the officer entered the parking lot, the vehicle started and quickly traveled out of the parking lot.  Due to the suspicious activity, a traffic stop was initiated.  While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, an odor of marijuana was coming from inside the vehicle.  An investigation was conducted and the passenger, Christopher Totten, age 33 of Lorain, was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

On Sunday, May 27, 2007, at approximately 2:07am, an officer, while on patrol downtown, observed a vehicle exit Amherst City Parking Lot # 3 and travel the wrong way on Park Avenue.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Megan Mihok, age 18 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Underage Consumption and Driving on One Way Streets.

On Monday, May 28, 2007, at approximately 2:38am, officers observed an intoxicated male walking on North Main Street and attempted to make contact.  The male, later identified as James Jenson, age 34 of Chicago, ran into the woods, fell off of a cliff into the Beaver Creek, ran from several officers, and was later detained after an altercation.  Mr. Jenson was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Official Business, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Walking on Streets Intoxicated, and Destruction of Trees and Shrubs.  Mr. Jenson was later admitted into Lorain Community Health Partners for multiple injuries sustained as a result of his fall from the cliff in the metro park.

On Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at 4:12am, an officer was dispatched to the area of Greenlawn Drive in reference to a vehicle trespass complaint.  Upon arrival into the area, the officer noticed a male walking on Lincoln Street near Greenlawn Drive who exhibited signs of being under the influence of alcohol. An investigation was conducted and the male, Zachary Wilburn, age 20 of Amherst, was issued a citation for Underage Consumption.

On Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at approximately 2:14pm, an officer was dispatched to Marion L. Steele High School, Washington Street, in reference to a drug complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the principal who advised he was given information that a student was in possession of some marijuana.  An investigation was conducted and the 15 year old student admitted to having marijuana.  The student was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at 5:36am, officers were dispatched to Milan Avenue in reference to an intoxicated male walking down the street staggering and having trouble standing up. Upon arrival to the area, the officers located the male, George Shildwachter, age 36 of Avon Lake, and an investigation was conducted. Mr. Shildwachter was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication, Open Container, and Walking on a Highway While Under the Influence.

On Saturday, June 2, 2007, at approximately 4:58am, while checking Premier Toyota of Amherst, Cooper Foster Park Road, an officer observed a vehicle sitting in the middle of the dealership lot with a male laying down on the ground next to the right front of the vehicle.  The vehicle appeared to have been involved in an accident.  The male, William Simmons, age 19 of Lorain, had a strong odor of intoxicating beverage coming from his person and red glassy eyes.  An investigation was conducted and Mr. Williams was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Underage Consumption, Open Container, Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct Persisting.
