 On Sunday, May 25, 2008, at approximately 2:17am, an officer, while on patrol in the downtown area, observed a male standing on Tenney Avenue yelling obscenities at the officer and causing a disturbance.  The officer made contact with the male, James Simmons, age 23 of Lorain, and an investigation was conducted.  Mr. Simmons was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Monday, May 26, 2008, at approximately 2:35am, officers, while on patrol in the downtown area, observed a vehicle operating in a reckless manner, weave from side to side within its lane of travel and almost strike the curb.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Tod Clayton, age 44 of Alabama, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Mishandling a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Operation, Turn Signal, Turning at Intersections, and Drug Abuse Marijuana.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at 3:12pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on North Lake Street in reference to a bicycle that was found in the front yard of the residence.  Upon arrival, the officer located a ten speed bicycle.  The bicycle was taken and placed into storage at the Amherst Police Department.  Anyone missing the bicycle should contact the police department with a further description.

On Friday, May 30, 2008, at 2:26am, officers were dispatched to a possible injury accident involving a vehicle that had flipped over on North Main Street.  Upon arrival, the officers located the vehicle in question lying on its hood in the south bound lane. Upon checking further, there were no occupants inside of the vehicle and there were multiple empty beer cans scattered on the roadway next to the vehicle.  Officers checked the area and located the driver, Mark Oswalt, age 27 of Lorain, on Cooper Foster Park Road attempting to leave in another vehicle.  An investigation was conducted and Mr. Oswalt was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Stopping after an Accident, Failure to Control, and Expired Plates.

On Friday, May 30, 2008, at 2:32am, officers, while investigating a roll over accident on North Main Street, observed a vehicle approaching them at a high rate of speed around the s curves.  Officers stopped the vehicle and conducted an investigation.  The driver, Andrew Burns, age 24 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, and BAC over .170%.

On Saturday, May 31, 2008, at approximately 1:29am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of Powers Elementary School, Washington Street, observed a juvenile male walking in the parking lot.  The officer approached the juvenile and an investigation was conducted.  The 14 year old male was issued a citation for Curfew and Drug Paraphernalia.

On Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 2:50am, officers, while on patrol in the downtown area, located a male and female lying in the doorway of Zilch's Florist, Park Avenue.  The officers approached the parties and conducted an investigation.  The male, Brandon Miller, age 19 of Amherst, was issued a citation for Underage Consumption.

On Saturday, May 31, 2008, at approximately 4:17am, an officer, while on patrol conducting parking enforcement on Rivers Edge Drive, observed a vehicle stop in the roadway and turn off its headlights.  The officer approached the vehicle and an investigation was conducted.  The 16 and 17 year old juvenile occupants were issued citations for Curfew and released to their parents.
