On Sunday, May 2, 2010, at approximately 6:09pm, officers were dispatched to IGA, Milan Avenue, regarding a theft complaint. Upon arrival, officers met with the owner who advised he caught his manager stealing from the store. An investigation was conducted and Eugene Squires, age 79 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Theft. | |

On Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at 2:28am, an officer, while on patrol on Tenney Avenue, observed a vehicle traveling at what appeared to be a much greater speed than the posted speed limit of 25 mph and fail to utilize a turn signal when turning. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Kyle Waddell, age 23 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Open Container, and Turn Signal. | |

On Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 1:46am, an officer, while on patrol on Jackson Street and Park Avenue, observed a vehicle weaving and also negotiate a wide turn causing the vehicle to travel left of center into the opposite lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Jennifer Lawrence, age 38 of Alabama, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Driving Under Suspension, Weaving Course, and Driving in Marked Lanes. | |

On Saturday, May 8, 2010, at approximately 2:15am, an officer, while on patrol on State Route 2, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its westbound lane of travel. The vehicle also crossed over the center dotted line several times, and at one point nearly ran another vehicle located in the high speed lane off of the roadway. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, Dominick Tversyak, age 28 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Weaving Course, and Marked Lanes. | |

On Saturday, May 8, 2010, at approximately 4:59pm, an officer was dispatched to a Westchester Drive residence regarding a three year old child getting bit by a dog. Upon arrival, an investigation was conducted and it was learned that the dog came into the child's yard, and because the child is friendly with other animals, tried to pet the dog, and was bit on the arm. The owner of the dog Robert Rebman, age 54 of Amherst, was located and cited with Dog at Large. |
