On Sunday, May 18, 2008, at approximately 1:59am, an officer, while on patrol on North Ridge Road, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its lane of travel and run off of the roadway to the right side of the vehicle.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Michael Nibert, age 33 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Weaving, and Marked Lanes.

On Sunday, May 18, 2008, at 5:00pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Maple Avenue in reference to a missing juvenile complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the mother who advised her 14 year old daughter crawled out a bedroom window and left a note saying that she wasn't coming back.  An investigation was conducted and the juvenile was later located at the Old Spring.  A report was made for file.  No further action was requested by the father or the mother.

On Thursday, May 22, 2008, at approximately 9:31pm, officers were dispatched to Blue Sky Restaurant, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a complaint of a male that had struck his son in the head, slamming it into the table causing injury.  Upon arrival, the officers spoke to the parties involved and an investigation was conducted.  David Hutchinson, age 45 of Lorain, was arrested for Domestic Violence.

On Friday, May 23, 2008, at 12:34am, officers were dispatched to Church Street Bar, Church Street, in reference to an underage consumption complaint.  The caller advised a male who was under the age of 21 was inside the bar drinking.  Upon arrival, the officers located the male in question operating a vehicle in City Lot 3.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Adam Jackson, age 19 of South Amherst, was arrested for Operating a Vehicle after Underage Consumption and Underage Consumption.

On Friday, May 23, 2008, at approximately 6:54pm, an officer was dispatched to the area of the Amherst Plaza in reference to a complaint of a male that was attempting to get people to buy items out of the rear of his vehicle. 

Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle and the male attempting to sell an item to another person.  The officer made contact with the male and an investigation was conducted.  Shawn S. Broadbent, age 24 of Broadview Heights, was issued a citation for Soliciting without a Permit.

On Friday, May 23, 2008, at approximately 11:25pm, an officer, while on patrol on North Ridge Road near Linn Road, observed a vehicle operating with the rear tail light broken and emitting a white light.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Tyler Eavenson, age 25 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Driving under Suspension, Drug Paraphernalia, Drug Abuse Marijuana, and Rear Tail Light.

On Saturday, May 24, 2008, at approximately 11:38pm, officers were dispatched to Gordon Avenue in reference to a possible bike theft.  Upon arrival, the officer located a 16 year old juvenile male riding a bike that was found to be stolen.  The juvenile male also admitted to stealing a second bike, both from the Amherst Cinema after the chain locks were cut.  The bikes were returned to their owners and the juvenile male was arrested for two counts of Theft.
