On Sunday, May 10, 2009, at approximately 2:24am, an officer was dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive, in reference to a criminal damaging complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who advised eggs were thrown at her vehicle causing damage while she was in the store.  An investigation was conducted and Daniel Ortiz, age 18 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Damaging, Criminal Tools, Contributing Delinquency Minor, Driving Marked Lanes, and Turn Signal.  A 17 year old male was also charged with Criminal Damaging and Curfew.

On Sunday, May 10, 2009, at approximately 4:30pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Cleveland Avenue in reference to a son fighting with his father. Upon arrival, the officer met with the homeowner who stated that his son pushed him causing him to fall over a chair and injure his back and shoulder.  An investigation was conducted and Dustin Egland, age 22 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence.

On Friday, May 15, 2009, at 2:03am, an officer, while on patrol downtown, observed a vehicle operating without the headlights illuminated and no front plate displayed.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Vanessa Trovato, age 30 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Display of Plates, and Lighted.

On Saturday, May 16, 2009, at 2:20am, an officer, while on patrol on North Leavitt Road near Speedway, observed a vehicle operating without a working rear license plate light.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted.  The driver, Melissa Holbrook, age 19 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Underage Consumption, and License Plate Light.
