On Monday, March 8, 2010, at approximately 3:35pm, officers were dispatched to North Dewey Road in reference to a complaint of an occupied vehicle parked at the dead end with several males possibly smoking drugs. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle in question and conducted an investigation. In doing so, a bag of suspected marijuana and a pipe were located and there was also a 1 year old juvenile and a 3 month old juvenile in the car at the time. One of the occupants, Russell See, age 18 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Drug Abuse and 2 counts of Endangering Children. The other occupant, Brian Myers, age 19 of Oberlin, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and two counts of Endangering Children. | |

On Monday, March 8, 2010, at 11:31pm, officers were dispatched to the area of Elyria Avenue and Minerva Avenue in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. The vehicle in question was witnessed by an off duty officer to be weaving and driving all over the road. Upon arrival into the area, officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. An investigation was conducted and the driver, Lawrence Kaminski, age 40 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Felony Operating A Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Open Container, Consumption in a Motor Vehicle, and Display of Plates. | |

On Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at approximately 1:15pm, officers were dispatched to Marion L. High School, Washington Street, in reference to a student causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers met with the principal and the 17 year old male student and conducted an investigation. It was learned that the student was upset over the fact that the assistant principal took his hat. He then turned over a chair, punched the wall and started cussing. He also became loud and very abusive with the principal. The juvenile was arrested and charged with Inducing Panic, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, Disturbing the Peace, and Criminal Trespass. | |

On Thursday, March 11, 2010, at 1:31AM, an officer, while on patrol on Cleveland Avenue near Woodhill Drive, observed a vehicle fail to enter completely into its lane after negotiating a turn onto Cleveland Avenue. The vehicle remained left of center over the double yellow line for a short distance and then swerved back into its lane. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Brittinee Crapo, age 19 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Underage Consumption, Weaving, and Driving in Marked Lanes. The passengers, Thomas Conley, age 19, Matthew Schneider, age 19, and Alex Zocchi, age 18, were all issued citations for Underage Consumption and Open Container. | |

On Thursday, March 11, 2010, at approximately 2:11am, an officer was dispatched to the area of North Leavitt Road and State Route 2 in regards to a complaint of a work van that had made two u-turns in the middle of the road. Upon arrival in the area, the officer observed the vehicle in question run through a red light directly in front of him. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Raymond Hellyer, age 44 of Canton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Bac of .170%, Red Light, and Unsafe Vehicle. | |

On Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 2:06am, officers were dispatched to The Pour House, Park Avenue, in reference to a highly intoxicated female that was walking down the street in front of the bar. The owner was worried because she was all dirty and he was unsure what had happened to her. Upon arrival, the officers made contact with the female, Kourtney Youngless, age 32 of Amherst, and conducted an investigation. Ms. Youngless was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Disturbing the Peace, and Disorderly Conduct Persisting. Ms. Youngless was eventually transported to the hospital for treatment. |
