On Sunday, March 28, 2010, at approximately 1:55am, an officer, while on patrol on Church Street and Park Avenue, observed a vehicle cross over the double yellow line to the left side of the vehicle.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Lindsay Molich, age 22 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Marked Lanes, Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.

On Sunday, March 28, 2010, at approximately 3:40pm, officers were dispatched to Pinecrest Apartments, Middle Ridge Road, in regarding to a domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival, officer met with the victim who advised her boyfriend, Brian Bolyard, and 25 of Lorain, “snapped” and began arguing with her 4 year old son.  An investigation was conducted and Mr. Bolyard was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence.

On Sunday, March 28, 2010, at 4:58pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Sipple Avenue in regards to a theft complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who advised an Ipod was stolen from his son.  An investigation was conducted and Adam Shaffer, age 18 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Theft.

On Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at 5:49pm, an officer was dispatched to Discount Drug Mart, North Leavitt Road, regarding an altered prescription.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the pharmacist who stated someone attempted to alter a prescription.  Upon noticing the obvious alteration the pharmacist declined to fill the prescription and contacted the Amherst Police Department.  The suspect, Wendy Ditzler, age 25 of Elyria, was later arrested and charged with Illegal Processing of Drug Documents.

On Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 10:05pm, officers were dispatched to the area of North Ridge Road and the State Route 2 overpass in reference to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident.  Upon arrival, officers located the pedestrian and conducted an investigation.  Officers spoke with both Lifecare and Amherst Fire Department personnel who advised the male, Richard Ochenkowski, age 37 of Lorain, was extremely intoxicated and that he had no visible signs of injuries.  Lifecare personnel advised Mr. Ochenkowski had no injuries what so ever that would be attributed to being struck by a vehicle.  It was determined Mr. Ochenkowski was not struck by a vehicle.  He was charged with Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication, and Disturbing the Peace.

On Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at approximately 10:57pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Jackson Street in reference to several juveniles out back of the residence throwing rocks at houses on Gordon Ave.  Upon arrival, officers located the juveniles in question and conducted an investigation.  Joshua Hamilton, age 18 of Amherst, was cited for Underage Consumption, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.  Two 17 year old males and a 15 year old male were cited for Underage Consumption.

On Friday, April 2, 2010, at 2:08am, an officer, while on patrol on Church Street, observed a male stumbling while walking down the street and falling into the buildings due to not being able to keep his balance.  The officer made contact with the male, William Green, age 45 of Amherst, made arrangements for a taxi to transport him home due to his intoxicated state.  Several minutes later, the officer witnessed Mr. Green operating a vehicle on Cleveland Avenue.  A traffic stop was initiated and Mr. Green was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, and Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order or Signal.

On Friday, April 2, 2010, at approximately 12:30pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Public Library in reference to an unidentified male in the DVD section possibly stealing movies. Upon arrival, the officer met with a library employee and the male in question, Joshua Hamilton, age 18 of Amherst, and an investigation was conducted.  Mr. Hamilton was arrested and charged with Theft.

On Saturday, April 3, 2010, at approximately 12:00am, an officer, while on patrol downtown, observed a vehicle exit City Lot  #1 and travel onto and over the curb and weave within its lane of travel after exiting the lot.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Robin Sheldon, age 25 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Weaving, and BAC over .08%.

On Saturday, April 3, 2010, at approximately 4:36am, officers were dispatched to the area Lincoln Street and Shadylawn Drive in reference to a male that had rang the doorbell at a residence on Lincoln Street.  Upon arrival, the officers checked the area and located a male walking that matched the suspect male’s description.  An investigation was conducted and the male, Justin Shields, age 23 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Obstructing Official Business, Criminal Trespass, Disturbing the Peace, Walking on the Highway Intoxicated, and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.
