On Sunday, March 22, 2009, at approximately 2:40am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Elyria Avenue weaving from side to side within its eastbound lane of travel.  The vehicle failed to signal before changing course as it turned left at the intersection of Elyria Avenue and Middle Ridge Road heading eastbound.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, George Conger, age 51 of Sheffield Lake, was arrested and charged with OVI, BAC over .170%, Weaving Course, and Signal before Changing Course.

On Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at approximately 7:07pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department regarding a possible burglary.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who advised someone took his Playstation from his house. He stated he was visiting a friend when he received a call from his brother, Eric Molnar, age 19 of Lorain, who said he noticed that the Playstation was missing.  Eric told his brother that he searched the home, and found a window open in the back of the house.  According to the complainant, both he and Eric believe their house may have been burglarized.  After an investigation was conducted it was learned that Eric, was responsible for taking the Playstation.  He was arrested and charged with Falsification.

On Friday, March 27, 2009, at approximately 2:16am, an officer was traveling southbound on North Lake Street north of West Martin and observed a vehicle traveling northbound near the entrance to Amherst Manor, North Lake St.  The vehicle was weaving and traveled left of the center double yellow line.  As the vehicle came closer, the officer observed it move back to the right side of the roadway and off the white edge line.  The vehicle came to the stop sign at West Martin with the passenger side tire being off the right edge of the roadway.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation completed.  The driver, Timothy  Lee, age 28 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with OVI, BAC over .08, Driving in Marked Lanes, and Weaving Course.

On Friday, March 27, 2009, at approximately 11:30pm, an officer observed two suspicious people walking in the middle of Jackson Street.  The males ran to the side of the residence and were apprehended.  An investigation followed and the two were found to be intoxicated and in possession of drugs.  Daniel Young, age 40 of Amherst, was arrested for Possession of Crack Cocaine, Drug Paraphernalia, Obstructing Official Business, Carrying Concealed Weapon, and Walking along Highways.  Theodore Aguayo, age 21 of Amherst, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and Walking Highways Intoxicated.

On Saturday, March 28, 2009, at approximately 1:12am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound on State Route 2 just east of the Oak Point Road bridge, weaving from side to side within its westbound lane of travel.  The officer followed the vehicle westbound on State Route 2 and observed the vehicle cross over the yellow center line to the right side of the vehicle several times.  The vehicle also crossed over the solid white line to the left side of the vehicle approximately two times.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted.  The driver, Kirk Aron, age 21 of Vermilion , was arrested and charged with OVI, Weaving Course, Marked Lanes, Paraphernalia (2cts.), Trafficking in Drugs, and Possession of Marijuana.  The passenger in the vehicle, Andrea Lantz, age 21 of Vermilion, was also arrested and charged with Paraphernalia (2cts.), Trafficking in Drugs, and Possession of Marijuana.
