On Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 12:15am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of Maude Neiding Park, Cleveland Avenue, observed an unoccupied vehicle in the south parking lot off of Park Avenue. The officer began checking the park grounds and noticed two cases of beer and other intoxicating beverages inside one of the pavilions. Officers observed a male run eastbound through the middle of the park and jump a wooden fence, damaging it in the process. An investigation was conducted and the male, later identified as Gregory Gossett Jr., age 18 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Underage Consumption and Obstructing Official Business. | |

On Sunday, June 8, 2008, at approximately 2:15am, officers were dispatched to a fight behind Church Street Bar in City Lot 1. Upon arrival, an investigation was conducted and several people were found to be in an altercation and intoxicated. Rebecca Smith, age 30 of Elyria, and Ashley Wallace, age 22 of North Carolina were cited for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication. Ian Catlett, age 20 of Lisbon, was cited for Underage Consumption. | |

On Sunday, June 8, 2008, at approximately 4:24am, officers were dispatched to North Ridge Road in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle in question and observed no visible registration. A traffic stop was initiated and the female driver, Amanda Hair, age 28 of Elyria, ran from the vehicle into a residence on North Ridge Road. Ms. Hair was later located and arrested for Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Obstructing Official Business, Disorderly Conduct Intox, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, and Plate Display. | |

On Sunday, June 8, 2008, at approximately 8:15pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Sipple Avenue in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, the officers met with the victim who advised he was assaulted by his father, Ronald Wolfe, age 59 of Amherst. After the assault, the victim stated his Mr. Wolfe left the scene. An investigation was conducted and an arrest warrant was issued. Mr. Wolfe was later arrested and charged with Domestic Violence. | |

On Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at approximately 2:29am, an officer, while on patrol on Nordson Drive, observed three younger male subjects on bicycles stopped in the middle of the roadway. The officer stopped to talk with the males and an investigation was conducted. All three juveniles were cited for Curfew and released to their parents. | |

On Thursday, June 12, 2008, at approximately 9:49pm, officers were dispatched to McDonalds, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a private property accident where the suspect vehicle struck a vehicle in the drive thru line and then struck the side of the building. Upon arrival, the officers observed a vehicle resting against the brick drive thru wall. An investigation was conducted and the driver, Joseph Gonzalez, age 20 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Underage Consumption, Assured Clear Distance, Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana. | |

On Friday, June 13, 2008, at approximately 1:40am, officers, while on patrol in the area of North Main Street and Sunrise Drive observed four subjects on bicycles. The subjects, upon observing the officers, rode into the driveways and yards located on the east side of the street and fled. Two were later located and an investigation was conducted. The two female juveniles were cited for Unruly Juvenile, Curfew, Possession of Criminal Tools, and Obstructing Official Police Business. | |

On Friday, June 13, 2008, at approximately 9:15am, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department lobby in reference to a passing bad checks complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with an employee of Bobel's who advised they received a check from Paul Vazur, age 37 of Lorain, which was returned for insufficient funds. An investigation was conducted and multiple attempts were made to make restitution with no success. A warrant was issued for Mr. Vazur’s arrest. Mr. Vazur was later arrested and charged with Passing Bad Checks. |
