On Sunday, June 22, 2008, at approximately 12:35am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of Cooper Foster and North Leavitt Road, observed a vehicle operating with an equipment violation.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Richard Kurtz Jr., age 20 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with License Plate Light, 7 counts of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Trafficking in Marijuana, Trafficking in Cocaine, Underage Consumption, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Illegal Conveyance of Drugs.  A passenger, Bryan Hall, age 18 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, and Underage Consumption.  A juvenile male in the vehicle was also arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession, and Curfew.

On Sunday, June 22, 2008, at approximately 3:14am, officers were dispatched to Blue Sky Restaurant, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a fight in progress.  While en route, dispatch advised that a male was seen leaning out of a vehicle’s passenger window and was pointing what appeared to be a handgun toward the patrons of the restaurant.  Upon arrival, an off duty Lorain Police Officer pointed out the vehicle in question and a traffic stop was initiated.  An investigation was conducted and the passenger, William Kirkendoll, age 21 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Inducing Panic, Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, and Disturbing the Peace.  The driver of the vehicle, Darcel Wilson, age 22 of Lorain was issued a citation for Complicity to Inducing Panic.

On Sunday, June 22, 2008, at approximately 5:40pm, an officer, while on patrol on North Main Street near the north city limits, observed a vehicle with a loud exhaust.  The officer performed a check of the registration through LEADS which stated that the vehicle was stolen.  A traffic stop was conducted and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Antonio Mitchell, age 29 of Garfield Heights, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Faulty Exhaust and Safety Belt.

On Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 12:48am, an officer, while on patrol on Terra Lane and Shadylawn Drive, observed a younger looking male and female walking near the intersection.  The officer approached the parties and an investigation was conducted.  It was determined both the male and female were 17 years old and both were issued citations for Curfew. 

On Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at approximately 5:46am, an officer was dispatched to the area of South Lake Street and Charles Avenue in reference to two males and a female acting suspicious.  Upon arrival into the area, the officer approached the two males and conducted an investigation.  Robert Johnson, age 19 of Lorain, and Gregory Gossett II, age 18 of Lorain, were issued citations for Underage Consumption. 

On Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 10:35pm, an officer, while on patrol on Church Street and Tenney Avenue, observed a vehicle negotiate a wide turn causing the vehicle to travel left of center over the center double yellow line.   A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Christopher Olexa, age 21 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine, Drug Abuse Instrument, Driving in Marked Lanes, Open Container. 

On Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at 1:26am, an officer, while on patrol near Lincoln Street and Sipple Avenue, observed a vehicle with a loud muffler.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Joshua Podlich, age 19 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Unsafe Vehicle, Loud Muffler, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine, Drug Paraphernalia, and Underage Consumption.  

On Thursday, June 26, 2008, at 11:15pm, on officer, while on patrol on Church Street and Park Avenue, observed a negotiate a without utilizing the vehicle's turn signal.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Richard Joles, age 57 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with  Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, and Signals before changing Course.

On Friday, June 27, 2008, at approximately 2:58am, an officer, while on patrol on North Main Street near the north city limits, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its lane of travel and cross over the solid white line several times.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Amber Adkins, age 25 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Marked Lanes, Weaving Course, Drug Abuse Marijuana, and Paraphernalia. 

On Saturday, June 28, 2008, an officer, while on patrol on Tenney Avenue near Church Street, observed a vehicle travel over the double yellow line.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Ashley Brock, age 22 of Lorain, was issued a citation for Marked Lanes and Weaving.  A passenger, Robert Vencill, age 26 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Cocaine, and Drug Paraphernalia.  A second passenger was arrested on an active Amherst Police Department warrant
