On Sunday, July 6, 2008, at approximately 2:01am, an officer, while on patrol on North Main Street near Sipple Avenue, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its lane of travel. The vehicle also crossed over the double yellow lines to the left side of the vehicle several times. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Patrick Wilson, age 35 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Marked Lanes, Weaving, Driving under Suspension, and State Refusal. | |

On Monday, July 7, 2008, at 1:38am, an officer, while on patrol in the parking lot of Motel 6, North Leavitt Road, observed a vehicle parked in the south lot and the male and female occupants attempting to have sexual relations. The officer made contact with the parties and an investigation was conducted. The male, Lynn Gray, age 22 of Oberlin, was arrested and charged with Possession of Ecstasy, and Drug Paraphernalia. The female, Cory Podgorski, age 21 of Lorain, was taken into custody on an active warrant out of Avon Lake for Synthetic Narcotic Possession. | |

On Monday, July 7, 2008, at 9:44am, an officer, while on patrol, was flagged down by an employee of Sprenger Park, Milan Avenue, who advised he located a girls bicycle in the picnic area across from the park. The bicycle was taken and placed into storage at the Amherst Police Department. A recovered bike form was completed. Anyone missing the bicycle should contact the police department with a further description. | |

On Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at approximately 12:36am, an officer, while on patrol on Cooper Foster Park Road near North Main Street, observed a vehicle operating without a working rear license plate light. The officer also observed the vehicle continue straight in the turn lane. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Gary Fitzpatrick, age 19 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Operating Vehicle after Underage Alcohol Consumption, Underage Consumption, Marked Lanes, and License Plate Light. | |

On Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at 10:41pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Georgia Avenue in reference to an intoxicated female causing a disturbance outside. Upon arrival and a further investigation, it was determined the female, Jennifer Kalapis, age 35 of North Ridgeville, drove to the residence in a vehicle located in the driveway. Ms. Kalapis exhibited signs of being highly intoxicated and she was subsequently arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Open Container, and Consumption in a Motor Vehicle. | |

On Friday, July 11, 2008, at approximately 1:05am, an officer, while on patrol on Elyria Avenue near Middle Ridge Road, observed a vehicle traveling at an extremely slow rate of speed and fail to signal a left hand turn at the intersection. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Theodore Kata, age 46 of Sheffield Lake, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, and Signals before Changing Course. | |

On Saturday, July 12, 2008, at approximately 2:26am, an officer, while on patrol on Washington Street near Sunrise Drive, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Matthew Price, age 22 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Weaving, and Driving under Suspension. |
