On Sunday, July 26, 2009, at 1224pm, officers were dispatched to Target, Oak Point Road, in reference to a male juvenile riding a bicycle in the parking lot and attempting to enter vehicles.  While stopped at the traffic light at North Lake Street and State Route 2, the officer observed a male juvenile matching the description ride his bicycle between several vehicles parked in the parking lot, get off of the bicycle and appear to pull on the door handles.  Upon arrival, the officers made contact with the male and conducted an investigation.  The 14 year old juvenile was issued a citation for Attempted Vehicle Trespass and released to his father.

On Monday, July 27, 2009, at approximately 8:30pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Eastpointe Court for a domestic violence in progress.  Upon arrival, officers found the female standing in the street.  She advised of a domestic situation between her and her husband.  An investigation was conducted and John Clair, age 51 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence.

On Friday, July 31, 2009, at 1:24am, an officer, while on patrol on Tenney Avenue, observed a female he was familiar with as being Kayla Barnes, age 18 of Elyria, standing with a male outside of the side door to Church St. Bar and Grill.  The officer made contact with Ms. Barnes and conducted an investigation.  Ms. Barnes was issued a citation for Underage Consumption.

On Friday, July 31, 2009, at approximately 2:44am, an officer, while on patrol on Park Avenue, observed a female lying in the street in front of Fraley and Fox Construction.  The officer stopped and made contact with the female, Patricia O'Connell, age 44 of Amherst, and conducted an investigation.  Ms. O'Connell was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and released to her mother.

On Friday, July 31, 2009, at 3:38pm, officers were dispatched to Rite Aid, South Leavitt Road, in regards to a theft complaint.  Upon arrival, the officers met with staff from who advised that they had a male in custody for shoplifting.  After an investigation, William Thomas, age 28 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Theft.

On Friday, July 31, 2009, at 6:35pm, an officer was dispatched to the area of State Route 2 and State Route 58 for an intoxicated driver called in by a citizen.  The caller stated that the vehicle had driven off of the road and struck several construction barrels.  Upon arrival into the area, the officer observed the suspect vehicle cross over the center lane of travel into the opposing traffic.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Christopher Simmons, age 26 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Bac over .170%, and Driving in Marked Lanes.

On Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 12:40am, an officer, while on bike patrol on Tenney Avenue, observed a male standing in between two parked vehicles preparing to pull his pants down to urinate.  The male was having trouble keeping his balance while standing and he was swaying back and forth.  The officer approached the male,       Patrick Coy, age 44 of Oberlin, and conducted an investigation.  Mr. Coy was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Open Container, Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia.

On Saturday, August 1, 2009, at approximately 11:13pm, officers were dispatched to J&D Towing, Tenney Avenue, in reference to an intoxicated male sleeping in the parking lot between two vehicles.  Upon arrival, a male was located and found to be extremely intoxicated and had a warrant for his arrest.  The male, Brandon Vandersommen, age 33 of Elyria, was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and transported to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department for the warrant.
