On Sunday, July 1, 2007, at approximately 7:55pm, an officer was dispatched to Nate's Marathon, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a detained individual who committed a gas drive off. Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the complainant and an investigation was conducted. Valerie Stammitti, age 53 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Driving under Suspension and four counts of Theft. | |

On Monday, July 2, 2007, at approximately 3:38am, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Shady Drive in reference to a barking dog complaint. Upon arrival into the area, the officer rolled down the windows and parked several houses away from the suspected residence and conducted an investigation. The homeowner, Rhonda Buffa, age 31, was cited for Barking or Howling Dog. | |

On Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at 8:56am, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Park Avenue in reference to a found bicycle. Upon arrival, the officer conducted an investigation and the bicycle was taken to the city storage facility. A report was taken for file. | |

On Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at approximately 12:00am, officers were dispatched to a residence on Green Forest Drive in reference to a missing juvenile complaint. Upon arrival, the officers began checking the area around Harris Elementary School and observed the juvenile male seated behind the building on the northeast corner. An investigation was conducted and the juvenile was issued a citation for Curfew and released to his mother. | |

On Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at approximately 9:56pm, an officer was dispatched to the area of Denny's Restaurant, North Leavitt Road, in reference to an intoxicated male on a cellular telephone walking around the building screaming and cussing. Upon arrival, the officer observed the male standing in front of Taco Bell yelling into his cellular telephone. An investigation was conducted and the highly intoxicated male, Aaron Gasser, age 19 of Sylvania, was issued a citation for Underage Consumption and Disturbing the Peace. | |

On Thursday, July 5, 2007, at 1:23am, officers were dispatched to Ziggy's Bar, Park Avenue, in reference to a large fight in progress involving males and females. Upon arrival, the officers observed a male stumbling down the street and bleeding profusely from his face. The male had severe injuries to his nose and both eyes. The male advised he was assaulted by two males. Officers located both suspects and an investigation was conducted. Blake Lantz, age 30 of Vermilion, and Kasey King, age 31 of South Amherst, were arrested and charged with Felonious Assault. The victim was transported to the Amherst Hospital and later lifeflighted to Cleveland Metro. | |

On Thursday, July 5, 2007, at approximately 10:25pm, an officer was dispatched to Milan Avenue near Beaver Court in reference to an abandoned bicycle. Upon arrival, the officer located the bicycle on the sidewalk leaning against the guardrail. An investigation was conducted and the bicycle was taken to the city storage facility. A report was taken for file. | |

On Thursday, July 5, 2007, at approximately 10:34pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Autumn Drive in reference to a barking dog complaint. Upon arrival into the area, the officer rolled down the windows, parked several houses down and conducted an investigation. The homeowner, Justin Howard, age 24, was issued a citation Barking or Howling Dog. | |

On Saturday, July 7, 2007, at approximately 1:24am, an officer was dispatched to the area of North Lake Street and Cooper Foster Park Road in reference to a report of a driver that had run through a stop sign and nearly caused an accident. The complainant stated the driver of the vehicle that nearly hit him was now standing next to the vehicle yelling at him. Upon arrival, the officer met with both parties and conducted an investigation. The driver of the vehicle in question, Derrick Branscum, age 18 of Lorain, had an odor of an intoxicating beverage coming from his person and red glassy eyes. Mr. Branscum was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Driving under Suspension, BAC of .08%, Underage Consumption, Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, and Open Container. |
