On Sunday, July 19, 2009, at approximately 1:05am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of Leavitt Road and Cooper Foster Park Road, observed a vehicle sitting through the entire green arrow at the intersection. When the vehicle finally turned, it began to weave within its lane of travel.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Quincy Washington, age 60 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Weaving, and Traffic Control Devices.

On Sunday, July 19, 2009, at approximately 2:47am, an officer observed a male urinating on the side of Convenient, North Leavitt Road.  An investigation was conducted and the male, John Leahy, age 31 of Lorain, was found to be intoxicated and a suspended driver.  Mr. Leahy, was arrested and charged with Operating Vehicle Intoxicated, Driving under Suspension, BAC Over 170%, Open Container, and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 12:15am, an officer, while on patrol on Westchester Drive and Ravenglass Blvd, observed a juvenile male walking near the intersection.  Due to the curfew violation, the officer stopped the juvenile and conducted an investigation.  The 15 year old was issued a citation for Curfew, and Possession of Marijuana.  He was released to his father.             

On Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 3:09am, an officer, while on patrol downtown, observed two male juveniles walking near the pay phone on the sidewalk.  Due to the curfew violation, the officer stopped the males and conducted an investigation.  One of the juveniles, age 16, was issued a citation for Curfew and Underage Consumption.  The other, age 16 was issued a citation for Curfew. 

On Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at approximately 3:28am, an officer, while assisting another officer at the Five Points intersection, observed a vehicle fail to stop at the intersection.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Jessica Hageman, age 25 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08, and Stop Sign.

On Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at approximately 5:20am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of Park Avenue and Spring Street, observed a vehicle traveling without its headlights on and at a greater speed than the posted speed limit.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation conducted.  The driver,  Eric Polansky, age 22 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Failure to Display Driver's License, Lighted Lights Required, and Speeding.  The front seat passenger Nicole Kacarab, age 20 of Amherst, was issued a citation for Underage Consumption.     

On Thursday, July 23, 2009, at approximately 10:11pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Middle Ridge Road in reference an unwanted male and multiple others who entered the residence without permission.  Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the homeowner who advised the male, Codye McCord, age 18 of Lorain, entered the residence without permission allowed multiple others to enter the residence. He stated marijuana was smoked inside the residence in front of two young juveniles.  A 17 year old male was issued a citation for Possession Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia and released to his father.  A warrant was issued for Mr. McCord for Burglary and Two Counts of Endangering Children.  He was later located and arrested.

On Friday, July 24, 2009, at approximately 11:57pm, an officer, while on patrol in the area of North Leavitt Road and State Route 2, observed a possible accident on the westbound entrance ramp.  An investigation was conducted and the driver, Ricky Baxter, age 39 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC Over .08%, and Failure to Control.

On Saturday, July 25, 2009, at approximately 5:07am, officers were dispatched to Motel 6 in reference to a disturbing the peace complaint.  Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation.  A male, Gregory Jones, age 29 of Lorain, was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia arrest and the complaint.
