Attention residents of Amherst:

Over the past several weeks, the Amherst Police Department has been dealing with an increase of vehicles that are being entered during the night hours.  The vehicles that are being entered have been left unlocked by the owners which gives the suspects easy access to items and valuables left unsecured inside.  Garage door openers are also being taken by the suspects.  We would like to encourage all residents to lock any vehicle that are parked in driveways overnight.  Thank you.
