On Sunday, July 15, 2007, at approximately 2:32am, an officer, while on patrol on Park Avenue, observed a male sitting in the doorway of the Lighthouse Insurance Agency with his head in his hands and not moving.  The officer determined the male, Nicholas Burke, age 22 of Lorain, was highly intoxicated and it took several minutes to arouse him.  He was unable to speak and collapsed without being held up by the officers.  An investigation was conducted and Mr. Burke was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Sunday, July 15, 2007, at approximately 3:19am, an officer, while on patrol near North Leavitt Road and Kresge Drive, observed a vehicle exit the Sunoco Gas Station going southbound in the northbound lane of North Leavitt Road, drive over the concrete center divider, and continued southbound in the southbound lane.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Jeffrey Gibson, age 31 of Willard, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Bac over .08%, and Failure to Control.

On Sunday, July 15, 2007, at approximately 10:57pm, an officer, while on patrol on North Leavitt Road near State Rt 2, observed a vehicle exit the Speedway parking lot at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Samuel Wood, age 19 of Cleveland Heights, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Bac over .08%, Underage Consumption, Red Light, Unsafe Vehicle, Reckless Operation, Using Weapons While Intoxicated, Weapons Under Disability, and Improper Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle.

On Monday, July 16, 2007, at approximately 6:57pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Meadowview Lane in reference to a domestic violence complaint.  Upon arrival, it was learned the 15 year old juvenile suspect left the residence on foot.  An investigation was conducted and the juvenile was located.  The juvenile was charged with Domestic Violence, Unruly Juvenile, and Obstructing Official Business.

On Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at approximately 1:22am, an officer, while on patrol downtown, observed a disturbance in front of Church Street Bar and Grill, Church Street. Several males were arguing with another male and female and all involved parties were physically pushing each other.  An investigation was conducted and two males, Charles Snowden, age 47 of Lorain, and Jack Denney, age 34 of Amherst, were issued citations for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.  Another male, Dennis Pasa, age 35 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Official Business, and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at 5:04am, an officer was dispatched to The Junction Car Wash, Milan Avenue, in reference to an intoxicated male requesting to speak to an officer and in need of a ride home.  Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a highly intoxicated male, Scott Osburn, age 21 of Amherst.  An investigation was conducted and Mr. Osburn was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and transported to the station to await a ride home from his mother.

On Saturday, July 21, 2007, at approximately 1:03am, officers were dispatched to the area of Shupe School, Shupe Avenue, for two females sitting in front of the school in the roadway.  Upon arrival, the officers observed the two juvenile females sitting at the edge of the northeast drive to Shupe School with their feet and legs in the street and an open and almost empty bottle of Bud Light beer sitting next to them.  While speaking to the juveniles, the officers could detect a strong odor of intoxicating beverage coming from their breath.  An investigation was conducted and the females were issued a citation for Underage Consumption and Open Container.

On Saturday, July 21, 2007, at approximately 5:39pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Professional Park, located at the Five Points intersection, in reference to juveniles trespassing on the property.  Upon arrival, the officer located several juveniles and an adult on the property.  A “No Trespassing, Violators will be Prosecuted” sign is posted in plain sight on the property near the area where the parties were.  An investigation was conducted and Andrew Lizak, age 18 of Amherst, was issued a citation for Criminal Trespassing.   The juveniles were given citations.

On Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 11:44pm, an officer, while on patrol near Church Street and Franklin Avenue, observed two younger looking males walking southbound on Church St.  The officer made contact with both males and identified them as being 15 years old. Both juveniles were issued citations for Curfew and released to a guardian.
