On Sunday, February 22, 20090 at approximately 2:22am, an officer observed two males stumbling out of RC's Brewhouse walking northbound on Church Street. The two male continued across Park Avenue and began shouting obscene comments to passing cars. The one male entered the driver's seat of a vehicle and the other male continued to stumble around the vehicle. The officer approached the vehicle and an investigation followed. Both males were found to be intoxicated and one of the males, Dale Dye, age 29 of Lorain, became belligerent which eventually led to his arrest. Mr. Dye was arrested for Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, and Disturbing the Peace. | |

On Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at approximately 5:15pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on Crosse Rd. for a domestic violence complaint in progress. Upon arrival, the officers met with both parties and an investigation was completed. Joshua Gilles, age 28 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence. | |

On Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at approximately 9:30pm, an officer learned Robert Basen, age 30 of North Ridgeville, was staying at Motel 6 with his girlfriend, Betty Whyel, age 30 of Lagrange. Both Mr. Basen and Mrs. Whyel had warrants for their arrest confirmed with the submitting departments. Contact was made with Motel 6 and it was learned that Mr. Basen had a room checked out for him by his mother. An investigation was completed and Ms. Whyel was located and transferred to Elyria Police for her warrant. Mr. Basen was located and arrested and charged with Conveyance in a Jail Facility, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Drug Instruments, two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Identity Fraud, and Obstructing Official Business. The departments with outstanding warrants on Mr. Basen were notified of his new location. | |

On Friday, February 27, 2009, at approximately 1:23am, officers observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Park Avenue, Amherst. The vehicle stopped at the intersection of Park Avenue and South Leavitt Road, and then turned left onto South Leavitt Road heading northbound without using its turn signal. As the vehicle turned onto South Leavitt Road, it straddled the double yellow lines in the center of the roadway for several seconds. As the vehicle continued northbound on South Leavitt Road, it was weaving slightly from side to side within its northbound lane of travel. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the parking lot of Taco Bell, 940 North Leavitt Road. An investigation was conducted and the driver, August Scarpelli, age 48 of Sheffield Lake, was arrested and charged with OVI, Weaving, Marked Lanes, and Turn Signal. | |

On Friday, February 27, 2009, at approximately 2:20am, an officer was on patrol approaching the intersection of Park Ave. and Church St. The officer witnessed a vehicle approach the intersection also, traveling northbound on Church St. The driver approached the intersection and began to slow down after noticing this officer. The driver continued to roll slowly, never coming to a complete stop and then continued through the intersection. Due to the stop sign violation, the officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on Cleveland Avenue in front of Hastee Tastee. An investigation was conducted and the driver, Megan Mihok, age 20 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with OVI, BAC over .08, Underage Consumption, and Stop Sign. | |

On Saturday, February 28, 2009, at approximately 2:45am, an officer observed a male running down the sidewalk eastbound, along side of Park Avenue heading toward Spring Street. As the male crossed Spring Street he fell onto the street, rolled over on his back, and laid there for several seconds. The officer stopped to check on the welfare of the male and an investigation was conducted. Anthony Digiandominico, age 22 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and Walking on Highways Intoxicated. | |

On Saturday, February 28, 2009, at approximately 2:45pm, an officer was dispatched to Angelo's Pizza, Church Street, in regards to a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim and learned her estranged husband, Aaron Weaver, age 21 of Sheffield Lake, threatened to kill her during a phone conversation. An arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Weaver on the charge of Domestic Violence. At approximately 4:28pm, Mr. Weaver was taken into custody by Avon Police Department. |
