On Monday, February 15, 2010, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to an aggravated menacing complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the complainant who advised while driving south bound on South Leavitt Road, a male, Jesse Crum, age 22 of Amherst, made threats against him and then began to exit his vehicle in the intersection.   The officer conducted an investigation and made contacted with Mr. Crum by phone.  A warrant was issued for Mr. Crum for Aggravated Menacing.  The next day, Crum turned himself in at the Amherst Police Department.

On Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at approximately 10:00pm, an officer was dispatched to the area of Jackson Street and Franklin Avenue in regards to an accident where one of the vehicles left the scene.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim and conducted an investigation.  The suspect vehicle was later located parked at a residence on Elyria Avenue.  Contact was made with Dennis Beko Jr., age 41 of Amherst, and it was determined that he was the driver in the accident.  Mr. Beko was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Control.

On Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at 11:50pm, an officer was dispatched to the area of North Main Street just south of the City limits in reference to a vehicle off of the road stuck in a snow bank.  Upon arrival to the area, the officer located the occupied vehicle which was off the road and buried in the snow.  An investigation was conducted and the driver, Mark Hiner, age 51 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated and Failure to Control.

On Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at 2:46am, an officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of North Main Street in reference to a vehicle stuck off of the roadway in front of a residence.  Upon arrival to the area, the officer located the vehicle in question occupied by Kenneth Glowacki, age 21 of Lorain.  The officer made contact with Mr. Glowacki and conducted an investigation.  Mr. Glowacki was arrested for Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Driving under Suspension, and Failure to Control.   Mr. Glowacki also had an active warrant through the Ohio State Patrol.

On Thursday, February 18, 2010, at 11:10pm, an officer, while on patrol on Cooper Foster Park Road, observed a vehicle weaving within the lane and make a very wide right turn into the parking lot of Taco Bell.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Jacob Hritsko, age 18 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle after Underage Alcohol Consumption, Underage Consumption, License Plate Light Required, and Weaving Course.  The 16 year old passenger was charged with Underage Consumption, Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.

On Friday, February 19, 2010, at approximately 12:10am, officers were dispatched to Motel 6,North Leavitt Road, in reference to a noise disturbance.  According to the caller, males were in front of that room wrestling and drinking.  Upon arrival, the officers met by the complainant who advised the parties when into a room.  The officers located the males and an investigation was conducted.   Gregory Casto, age 25 of Hanoverton, was arrested and charged with Disturbing the Peace and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.  David Wilson, age 28 of Hanoverton, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Disturbing the Peace, and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 11:57am, an officer, while assisting other officers in locating two missing juveniles, observed two juvenile males running westbound on the railroad tracks above South Main Street.  The officer entered the tracks and advised them to stop.  The males disregarded his commands and ran northbound off of the railroad tracks.  The juveniles, both age 15 of Amherst, were located on Beaver Court and taken into custody.  They were charged with Trespassing on Railroad Property and release to their parents.
