On Sunday, August 9, 2009, at 1:18am, officers were dispatched to State Route 2 near Cleveland Avenue in regards to a possible impaired driver.  Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle in question and a traffic stop was initiated.  An investigation was conducted and the driver, Deborah Sperko, age 54 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC Over .08, and Driving in Marked Lanes.

On Monday, August 10, 2009, at approximately 2300 Hrs. an officer, while on patrol at Dairy Mart, Cleveland Avenue was advised of a suspicious male that had been in the store three times during the night and never bought anything.    The officer checked the area and located the male in question, Shawn Walton, age 18 of Elyria.  An investigation was conducted and Mr. Walton was issued a citation for Drug Abuse Marijuana.

On Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at approximately 4:36am, officers were dispatched to Speedway Gas Station, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a female chasing vehicles and people in the parking lot.  The caller advised that the female left her van parked at the gas pumps and ran towards Days Inn while continuing to chase the males.  Upon arrival, officers located the van as well as the female involved.  An investigation was conducted and the female, Brittany Yates, age 23 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Operating Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08, Disturbing the Peace, and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.  During the investigation, officers spoke with a male that was involved.  The male, Rodney Fuqua, age 18 of Lorain, was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2009, officers were dispatched to a residence on Nicole Drive in reference to a domestic violence complaint.  Upon arrival, officers spoke to the complainant who stated the juvenile female suspect physically attacked the complainant while the two argued.  An investigation was conducted and the female juvenile suspect was arrested and charged with Unruly Juvenile and Domestic Violence.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at approximately 11:01pm, officers were dispatched to the Five Points area in reference to several juveniles gathered at the bandstand throwing things at cars and were yelling vulgar things to vehicles.  Upon arrival, an investigation was conducted and a 15 year old male was issued a citation for Curfew.  The juvenile’s mother, Jessica Acevedo, age 32 of Lorain, was issued a citation for Parental Responsibility.

On Thursday, August 13, 2009, at 2:08am, an officer, while on patrol on Willow Creek Drive, observed a vehicle parked on the street after 2:00am.  As the officer pulled up closer to the vehicle to issue a parking citation, he observed a male and female in the back of the Jeep.  The officer approached both parties and conducted an investigation.  The female, Jennifer Karney, age 30 of Amherst, was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

On Thursday, August 13, 2009, at approximately 10:32pm, officers were dispatched to State Route 2 westbound in regards to a vehicle that appeared to be all over the roadway.   The officer located the vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated.  An investigation was conducted and the driver, Julie Chlepciak, age 30 of Elyria, was arrested and charged with  Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Possession of Heroin, Drug Paraphernalia, Drug Abuse Instruments, Weaving, and Marked Lanes.
