On Sunday, August 31, 2008, at approximately 2:08am, an officer, while on patrol on North Ridge Road near Hemlock Road, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its lane of travel and, at one point, completely cross over the double yellow line to the left side of the vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Mark Jursinski, age 45 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Weaving, and Marked Lanes.

On Monday, September 1, 2008, at approximately 1:01am hours, an officer, while on patrol on State Route 58 near Park Avenue, observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving from side to side within its lane of travel.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Gregory Gossett II, age 18 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Weaving, Underage Consumption and Drug Abuse Marijuana. A passenger in the vehicle, Tyler Helton, age 20 of Lorain, was issued a citation for Underage Consumption and a 17 year old male was issued a citation for Underage Consumption, Drug Abuse Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, and Curfew.

On Monday, September 1, 2008, at approximately 1:38am, an officer was advised of a potential fight between two males inside of Church Street Bar and Grille, Church Street.  It was learned that one of the males involved was identifying himself as an Akron Police Officer but was unable to provide any form of identification. Upon arrival, an investigation was conducted and the male was found to be impersonating an officer.  The male, Christian Hayes, age33 of Akron, was arrested and charged with Impersonating an Officer.   

On Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at 1:01am, an officer, while on patrol at the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Church Street, noticed a male stumble across the street in a jogging motion into the parking lot of Olde Town Pizza and then back into the middle of the roadway.  The male was very unsteady on his feet and had trouble keeping his balance.  The officer made contact with the male, Robert Kubic, age 39 of Amherst, and an investigation was conducted.  Mr. Kubic was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and transported to his residence.  

On Thursday, September 4, 2008, at 10:55pm, officers were dispatched to Church Street Bar and Grille in reference to a complaint of underage consumption taking place in the bar.  Upon arrival, the officers located several younger looking females and an investigation was conducted.  Kristi Peacock, age 20 of Amherst, and Tara Rinehart, age 18 of Lorain, were issued citations for Underage Consumption. 

On Friday, September 5, 2008, at approximately 6:33pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on South Main Street in reference to a protection order violation.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim who advised her ex-boyfriend just across the street from her house yelling to her.   The officer located the male, Evan Busek, age 27 of Vermilion, across the street and conducted an investigation.  Mr. Busek was arrested and charged with Violation a Protection Order.
