On Sunday, August 30, 2009, at approximately 12:12am, an officer, while on patrol in the parking lot of Motel 6, North Leavitt Road, overheard a male causing a disturbance.  After making contact with the male, James Harold, age 28 of Lorain, he was found to be intoxicated and in possession of marijuana.  Mr. Harold was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, Disturbing Peace, and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Sunday, August 30, 2009, at approximately 2:44am, an officer, while on patrol near Denny’s Restaurant, North Leavitt Road, observed a vehicle straddle the double yellow lines in the center of the southbound lanes.  The vehicle then crossed over two lanes of travel without signaling its intention.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Richard Boroviak, age 51 of North Royalton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Marked Lanes, Weaving, and Obedience to Traffic Control Devices.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at approximately 10:45pm, officers were dispatched to Church Street Bar and Grill for a male patron refusing to leave.  He then assaulted a patron and was running from the scene.  Officers located the male, Russell Hamner, age 24 of Amherst, running north along Church Street and ordered him stop, but he did not.  An altercation ensued and the Hamner was arrested after an ECD Taser device was used.   An investigation was conducted and Mr. Hamner was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Criminal Damaging, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Trespass, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, and Disturbing the Peace.

On Thursday, September 3, 2009, at approximately 2:54am, an officer, while on patrol near Faith Baptist Church, North Lake Street, observed a suspicious vehicle enter the driveway and park along the north side of the parking lot.  The officer briefly waited in the Amherst Police Department parking lot to see if the vehicle was just turning around or if something else were taking place.  The vehicle left the parking lot and was observed to be weaving from one side of its northbound lane of travel and then to the other side of its northbound lane of travel.   A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Michael Lee, age 43 of Sandusky, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Driving under Suspension, State Refusal, and Weaving.

On Friday, September 4, 2009, at approximately 1:39am, officers, while on patrol on South Main Street and Tenney Avenue, observed a vehicle with its bright lights illuminated and weaving from one side of the road to the other and had struck the curb to the right side of the vehicle several times.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Michelle Cole, age 26 of South Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State refusal, Weaving, Marked Lanes, and Head lights Illuminated.
