On Sunday, August 2, 2009, at approximately 12:09am, an officer was dispatched to State Route 2 near North Lake Street in reference to a male walking in the middle of the highway waving his arms and hitting orange construction barrels.  Upon arrival, an intoxicated male identified as Jacob Stanaszek, age 21 of North Ridgeville, was located and an investigation was conducted.  Mr. Stanaszek was arrested and charged with Carrying Concealed Weapon, Disturbing Peace, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, Disorderly Conduct Intoxicated, and Walking Roadway Intoxicated.

On Saturday, August 2, 2009, at 12:53am, an officer, while on foot patrol on Park Avenue and Church Street during the Dancing on Main Street Festival,   observed a male holding a cup containing beer.  The officer advised the male, Daniel Schramm, age 31 of Amherst, to take his alcohol inside the bar and off the street.   Mr. Schramm became disorderly and was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Sunday, August 2, 2009, at approximately 1:13am, an officer was dispatched to the area of North Main Street and Five Points intersection in regards to a complaint of a male wearing all black, walking in the middle of the roadway.  Upon arrival, the officer located the male, Eric Hawn, age 29 of Sheffield Lake, and conducted an investigation.  Mr. Hawn was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and released to his girlfriend.

On Sunday, August 2, 2009, at 1:25am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of Church Street near Ziggy's Bar, heard a loud noise, as if someone was slamming a dumpster door.  The officer was then flagged down and requested to stop a male who had damaged some equipment from the Dancing on Main Street event that evening and was running away from the area.  The officer ran after the male, who refused to stop and took him into custody.  Elijah Eber, age 20 of Sheffield Lake, was issued a citation for Underage Consumption, Criminal Damaging, Obstructing Official Business and Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.  He was turned over to a sober party.

On Sunday, August 2, 2009, at approximately 1:58am, an officer observed a male who fit the description of a subject they were looking for in the area of Milan Avenue and South Main Street.  Upon checking on the male, David Duggan, age 20 of Vermilion, he was found to be intoxicated and underage.  Mr. Duggan was issued a citation for Underage Consumption.

On Sunday, August 2, 2009, at approximately 2:30am, an officer, while on patrol, located a male sleeping on the curb near the corner of Spring Street and Park Avenue. The male, Mark Gajdos, age 36 of Washington, was found to be extremely intoxicated and was from another state.  Mr. Gajdos could not call anyone nor remembered the name of the street he was supposed to sleep at this night.  He was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxicated and placed into the Amherst Police Department jail until he was sober enough to be released to himself.

On Sunday, August 2, 2009, at approximately 2:33am, an officer was dispatched to the area of Elyria Avenue and Jackson Street in regards to a male that appeared to be passed out in the yard.  Upon arrival, the officer located the male, David Bascone, age 23 of Lorain, and conducted an investigation.  Mr. Bascone was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication taken to meet with friends that would take him home.

On Sunday, August 2, 2009, at approximately 2:44am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of North Lake Street and West Martin Street, observed a vehicle run the stop sign at the intersection.   The vehicle was also weaving within it's lane of travel and, at one point, left the roadway to the right side and nearly struck a pole.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Kyle Dalton, age 21 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Stop Sign, Weaving, and Marked.

On Monday, August 3, 2009, at 8:57pm, an officer, while on patrol at Motel 6 on North Leavitt Road,    conducted a registration check on a vehicle parked in the parking lot.  The response from LEADS showed that the vehicle was stolen out of the Cleveland Police Department.  An investigation was conducted and the driver, Calvin Parker, age 26 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at 12:33am, officers were dispatched to Motel 6, North Leavitt Road, in reference to an assault complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer met with both parties.  The victim stated she was involved in an argument with her boyfriends ex girlfriend, Amanda Cooper, age 21 of Lorain, and that Ms. Cooper assaulted her.  An investigation was conducted and Ms. Cooper admitted to the assaulting the female.  Ms. Cooper was arrested and charged with Assault.

On Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at approximately 7:00pm, an officer was dispatched to the railroad tracks between Jackson Street and Milan Avenue for a male lying in the weeds.  Upon arrival, the officer located a male, William Maddocks, age 51 of Elyria, sitting in the bushes approximately 15 feet north of the railroad tracks. Mr. Maddocks refused to follow commands given and was subsequently taken into custody after an ECD device was used.  He was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, Trespass on Railroad Property, and Public Indecency.

On Thursday, August 6, 2009, at 1:15am, an officer, while on patrol in the parking lot of Denny's Restaurant on North Leavitt Road, copied radio traffic from an Lorain P.D. officer who stated he witnessed a truck traveling at a high rate of speed on Cooper Foster Park Road near Premier Toyota and he was trying to catch up to it.  Upon hearing the traffic, the officer traveled towards the area and located the vehicle in question still traveling at a high rate of speed.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Jeffrey Gula, age 21 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Reckless Operation, and Open Container.

On Friday, August 7, 2009, at approximately 2:25am, an officer, while on patrol on Cleveland Avenue near the Amherst Hospital, observed a vehicle run off the roadway and strike the curb to the right side and weave from side to side within its lane of travel.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Angel Russo, age 35 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Driving under Suspension, Marked Lanes, and Reckless Operation.

On Saturday, August 8, 2009, at approximately 11:39pm, an officer, while on patrol on Milan Avenue near Crocker Street, observed a male riding a bicycle without lights and in the middle of the roadway.  It appeared the male, Timothy Daley, age 47 of Vermilion, was having difficulty controlling his bicycle and he was riding in a reckless zigzag manner within the lane.  The officer stopped the Mr. Daley and conducted an investigation.  He was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Reckless Operation on a Bicycle, and Lights and Reflectors on Bicycle.
