On Sunday, August 19, 2007, at 2:30am, an officer, while assisting another officer on an unrelated call, was advised by an employee of Ziggy's that three males were refusing to leave the bar. The officer entered the bar and made contact with one of the males, James Pisegna, age 34 of Lorain, who provided a false identification and fled on foot. Mr. Pisegna was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and charged with Obstructing Official Business, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, and Disorderly Conduct Persisting. | |

On Sunday, August 19, 2007, at approximately 2:34am, officers, while handling a disturbance on Park Avenue, observed a vehicle pass by and the driver motion out the window with his hand as if he was “flipping them off”. The vehicle then ran a stop sign and turned without displaying its turn signal. The officer followed the vehicle into the parking lot of Ziggy's Sports Bar, Park Avenue, and observed the driver exit the vehicle, leave the driver's door open with the keys vehicle still running and disappear into the bar. Officers located the driver, Jonathan Williams, age 28 of Lorain, and an investigation was conducted. Mr. Williams was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, State Refusal, Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Turn Signal, Expired Plates, and Stop Sign. | |

On Sunday, August 19, 2007, at approximately 3:25am, an officer was dispatcher to Linn Road and North Ridge Road in reference to a report of an accident. Upon arrival, the officer met with the driver Christina Seigfried, age 26 of Lorain, who had slurred speech, glassy eyes and a strong odor of intoxicating beverage was coming from her person when she spoke. An investigation was conducted and Ms. Seigfried was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08, and Failure to Control. | |

On Sunday, August 19, 2007, at 9:30am, an officer was dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive in reference to a male shoplifter that attempted to remove a shopping cart of meat from the store. Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the manager and an investigation was conducted. The male, Herbert Edwards, age 28 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Theft. | |

On Sunday, August 19, 2007, at approximately 9:05pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Elyria Avenue in reference to a runaway juvenile. Upon arrived, the officer spoke to the caller who stated his son refuses to come home from a friend’s house. An investigation was conducted and the juvenile male was located and issued a citation for Unruly Juvenile. | |

On Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at approximately 2:06pm, an officer was dispatched to a residence on North Ridge Road in reference to an unruly juvenile complaint. Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the complainant who advised her step-son had been verbally swearing at her and had overturned the furniture in the house. An investigation was conducted and the juvenile was issued a citation for Unruly Juvenile. | |

On Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at approximately 5:04pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the manager of Denny's Restaurant, North Leavitt Road, who requested to file theft charges against an employee that had recently been terminated. According to the manager, the employee was giving customers discounts toward their bills that he was not authorized to give, in order for him to receive larger tips and to flirt with girls. An investigation was conducted and the male, Brandon Shores, age 26 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Petty Theft. | |

On Friday, August 24, 2007, at 8:12pm, an officer, while on bike patrol working a special detail for the Amherst Steele High School football game, located several juvenile males in the playground area of Powers Elementary School who had an extremely strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from their person. An investigation was conducted and one of the juveniles was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. | |

On Friday, August 24, 2007, at 10:06pm, an officer was dispatched to Denny’s Restaurant in reference to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Victor Gonzalez, age of Lorain, was issued a citation for Drug Paraphernalia and Possession Marijuana and taken into custody on an active warrant. |
