On Sunday, April 26, 2009, at approximately 1:40am, an officer, while on patrol, observed two young males riding bikes in the middle of McIntosh Lane. As the officer pulled up to the males, both jumped off of their bikes and ran through several yards. One of the males was later located and found to be out past curfew and intoxicated. The male, age 17 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Underage Consumption, Obstructing Official Business, Criminal Trespass, and Curfew. | |

On Tuesday, April 28, 2009, officers were dispatched to a residence on Spruce Tree Lane in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the mother who stated she and an infant child were threatened by her 17 year old son during an argument. The victims left the residence and contacted police. The juvenile suspect had a self inflicted injury. He was later arrested and charged with two count of Domestic Violence. | |

On Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at 1:05am, officers were dispatched to the area of Milan Avenue and Dane Street in reference to a suspicious truck operating in the area with its lights off. Dispatch advised a residence called stating the truck in question kept driving up and down the street with it's headlights off and that it was now on Dane Street. Upon arrival into the area, the officers noticed a vehicle fitting the suspect vehicle description turn westbound onto Milan Avenue from Dane Street. The operator of the truck negotiated the turn onto Milan Avenue at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the posted stop sign. Due to the complaint and traffic violations witnessed, the officer initiated a traffic stop and conducted an investigation. During the investigation, the officers discovered that the parties in the vehicle broke into the Jefferson 150 Restaurant, Jefferson Street, and stole boxes of imported beer which were located in the vehicle. The 16 year old driver was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle after Underage Alcohol Consumption, Underage Consumption, Stop Sign, Driving in Marked Lanes, Temporary Instruction Permit, Curfew, Receiving Stolen Property, and Complicity to Breaking and Entering. Matthew Markel, age 18 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Theft, Contributing to the Delinquency of Minor, Drug Abuse possession of Marijuana, Underage Consumption, Disorderly Conduct Persisting, Possession of Criminal Tools, Breaking and Entering, and Disorderly Conduct. A16 year old male was arrested and charged with Curfew, Receiving Stolen Property, Underage Consumption of Alcohol, and Complicity to Breaking and Entering. A 14 year old male was arrested and charged with Curfew, Receiving Stolen Property, and Complicity to Breaking and Entering. | |

On Friday, May 1, 2009, at approximately 1:29am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of North Main Street and West Martin, observed a vehicle abruptly turned into a driveway and fail to use a turn signal. The vehicle then backed out and turned onto North Main Street. The officer observed the vehicle weaving within its lane and cross over the center line of the roadway. The vehicle then drifted to the right side of the roadway and touched the edge line. After observing these violations, a traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Jennifer Decker, age 19 of Wakeman, was arrested and charged with Underage Consumption, Operating Vehicle after Underage Alcohol Consumption, Signals before Changing Course, Driving in Marked Lanes, and Weaving Course. | |

On Friday, May 1, 2009, at 2:36am, an officer, while on patrol in the back parking lot of Ziggy's Bar, noticed a vehicle operating with window tint that appeared to have a light transmittance of less than 50 percent and weaving within its lane of travel. On one occasion the vehicle almost struck the curb on Cleveland Avenue and North Woodhill Drive. The officer initiated a traffic stop and an investigation was conducted. The driver, William Horvath, age 36 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Weaving Course, and Window Tint. | |

On Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 2:14am, an officer, while on patrol on Cleveland Avenue and North Leavitt Road, observed a vehicle traveling on the white dotted line separating the two northbound lanes. The driver continued traveling on the white dotted line for a short distance and then traveled back into the lane, before again traveling onto the white dotted line and then back again into the lane. The officer initiated a traffic stop and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Bradley Booth, age 28 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating A Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, Driving in Marked Lanes, and Drug Paraphernalia. | |

On Saturday, May 2, 2009, at approximately 11:16pm, an officer, while on patrol at Speedway, North Leavitt Road performed a random registration check through LEADS using my in car computer on a vehicle as the vehicle was exiting Speedway. It was learned that the vehicle owner had a suspended driver's license. The driver of the vehicle matched the BMV picture provided of the vehicle owner. The officer initiated a traffic stop and conducted an investigation. The driver and owner, Jackie Bennett, age 43 of Elyria, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Driving under Suspension and State Refusal. |
