On Saturday, April 21, 2007, at approximately 12:20am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of Spring Street and Park Avenue, observed a vehicle weaving within its lane of travel and run onto the curb. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Cynthia Erwin, age 30 of Lakewood, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, and Weaving. | |

On Sunday, April 22, 2007, at 9:45am, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Henry Street in reference to a car that had several items stolen from it. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who advised sometime during the night an unknown person(s) entered his vehicle and remove the electronic equipment. An investigation was conducted and a report was requested for insurance purposes. | |

On Monday, April 23, 2007, at approximately 8:00am, Sgt. Cawthon and his K-9 partner, Bandit, assisted the Vermilion Police Department in conducting locker sniffs at the Vermilion High School. K-9 Bandit alerted, by scratching, at several lockers. The lockers were checked by school officials and no visible signs of drugs were located. | |

K-9 Bandit alerted, by scratching, at several lockers. The lockers were checked by school officials and no visible signs of drugs were located. | |

On Monday, April 23, 2007, at approximately 2:20pm, an officer was dispatched to BP, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a male passed out between BP and the car wash. Upon arrival, the officer located Michael Demarco, age 51 of Lorain, passed out and lying on his stomach with his face buried in mulch. A strong odor of an intoxicating beverage was coming from his person. A LEADS check was done and it as learned that Mr. Demarco had an active warrant for his arrest. He was arrested on the warrant and issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and Open Container. | |

On Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at 1:59am, an officer, while on patrol in the area of Cooper Foster Park Road and Linn Road, observed a male riding a bicycle with no visible lights. The officer attempted to stop the male, but jumped off the bike and began running. The officer later located the male, who was identified as a 17 year old juvenile, behind Herron’s Christmas World and he was taken into custody. The juvenile was issued a citation for Obstructing Official Business, Curfew, and Lights in Bicycles. | |

On Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at 12:50pm, an officer was dispatched to Ron’s Barber Shop, Park Avenue, in reference to damage to the back door screen door. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who advised she observed the screen had been cut and ripped in the lower right corner near the door handle. An investigation was conducted and a report was made for file. The complainant requested extra patrol of the area. | |

On Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at approximately 1:27am, officers were dispatched to a residence on Hazel Street in reference to a male who had barricaded himself in the bedroom to prevent his girlfriend from getting to him. While en route to the call, the female had made entry into the room and the call was then disconnected. Upon arrival, the officers met with the subjects involved and an investigation was conducted. The female, Linda Markus, age 41 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence, Felonious Assault, and Obstructing Official Business. | |

On Friday, April 27, 2007, at approximately 11:05pm, officers were advised of a female staying at Motel 6 who had two active warrants through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, the officers made contact with the female, Melony Frye, age 30 of Lorain, and found her to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Frye was arrested for Possession of Crack, Drug Abuse Instruments, Drug Paraphernalia, and active warrants. | |

On Saturday, April 28, 2007, at approximately 2:07am, officers responded to Sunoco, North Leavitt Road, in reference to a call from an off duty Lorain Police officer stating that he had observed a possible domestic argument inside vehicle parked in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle sitting in the drive thru line at Taco Bell. The officers approached the vehicle and conducted an investigation. The driver, Anthony Sklarek, age 18 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, and Underage Consumption. Officers also spoke to the four occupants of the vehicle. Amber Ortiz, age 18 of Lorain, was charged with Underage Consumption and three juveniles were charged with Underage Consumption and Curfew. | |

On Saturday, April 28, 2007, at approximately 3:21am, an officer, while on patrol on State Route 2 near State Route 58, observed a vehicle weaving erratically from side to side crossing both westbound lanes of traffic. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Martin Hunter, age 22 of Canal Fulton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, Open Container, Weaving, and Marked Lanes. | |

On Saturday, April 28, 2007, at approximately 4:06am, officers were dispatched to the area of North Main Street and Cooper Foster Park Road, in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. The caller stated that he was following vehicle that was weaving all over the roadway. The officers arrived in the area and observed the vehicle in question to pull into a driveway on North Main Street and then attempted to back out. The officers initiated a traffic stop in the driveway and an investigation was conducted. The driver, Donald Campbell, age 26 of Cleveland, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .08%, and Driving Under Suspension. | |

On Saturday, April 28, 2007, at approximately 5:20pm, officers were dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive, in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the officers met with the complainant who stated he apprehended a female shoplifter. An investigation was conducted and the female, Shirley Klein, age 67 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Petty Theft. |
