On Sunday, April, 20, 2008, at approximately 2:49am, an officer, while on patrol in the parking lot of Motel 6, observed a disturbance between two males. After a further investigation, the officer located a male who was found to be intoxicated, yelling and cursing, and had several active warrants for his arrest. The male, Ricardo Phillips Jr., age 32 of Columbus, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and later turned over to the Elyria PD for his warrant. | |

On Sunday, April, 20, 2008, an officer was dispatched to Subway, Cooper Foster Park Road, in reference to a male causing a disturbance in the restaurant. Upon arrival, the officer met with the female complainant who advised two males were causing a problem and making threats. The officer located the males outside and an investigation was conducted. Richard Regler, age 18 of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct Persisting, Underage Consumption, and Menacing. | |

On Monday, April, 21, 2008, at 1:30pm, an officer was dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Road, in reference to a theft complaint where the suspect fled on foot away from the security guard. Upon arrival, the officer met with the security guard who advised a male stole a couple packages of steaks and ran. The officer later located the male and an investigation was conducted. John Barnhard, age 24 of Vermilion, was arrested and charged with Theft, and Obstructing Official Business. | |

On Monday, April 21, 2008, officers were dispatched to a residence on Elyria Avenue in reference to an assault complaint. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the complainant who stated another female struck her in the face and pulled her hair. An investigation was conducted and the female, Misty Brock, age 27 of Amherst, was arrested and charged with Assault. | |

On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at 4:06am, officers were dispatched to the area of Cooper Foster Park Road near Premier Toyota for a suspicious male walking in the area. Upon arrival, the officer located the male, Derek Yated, age 23 of Vermilion, who was very unsteady on his feet. An investigation was conducted and Mr. Yates was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication, Walking on a Highway Intoxicated, Open Container, and Littering. | |

On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at 2:27pm, officers were dispatched to Giant Eagle, Kresge Drive, in reference to a male subject that removed some items from the store without paying for them and left in a silver vehicle. The officer checked the area and located the vehicle in question. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted. The passenger, Josh Ison, age 29 of Vermilion, was identified by store security and arrested for Theft. | |

On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, officers were dispatched to a residence on North Main Street in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, officers discovered an argument had ensued between mother and daughter and the juvenile female struck her mother several times with a hairspray can. An investigation was conducted and the juvenile was arrested for Domestic Violence and Unruly Juvenile. | |

On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at 11:04pm, an officer, while on patrol on Park Avenue, was flagged down by a female motorist who stated she witnessed a female, who appeared to be sick or intoxicated, walking through the emergency room parking lot towards Higgins Pharmacy. The officer located the female, Ann Johnson, age 45 of Amherst, stumbling and unsteady on her feet. An investigation was conducted and Ms. Johnson was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and transported to the hospital for treatment due to her highly intoxicated state. | |

On Friday, April 25, 2008, at 2:00 pm, an officer was dispatched to the Amherst Police Department in reference to a passing bad checks complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with representatives from Discount Drug Mart, North Leavitt Road, who they received eight checks written by Lisa Big, age 37 of Vermilion, that were returned for insufficient funds. An investigation was conducted and a warrant was issued for Ms. Big’s arrest. On May 1, 2008, Ms. Big’s was located and arrested for eight counts of Passing Bad Checks. | |

On Friday, April 25, 2008, at approximately 8:18pm, an officer was dispatched to Target, Oak Point Road, in reference to a suspicious vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle in question and an investigation was conducted. Ross Cogan, age 18 of Amherst, and two juvenile males, were issued citations for Underage Consumption. | |

On Saturday, April 26, 2008, at 11:36pm, an officer, while on patrol in the downtown area, observed a group of juveniles congregating on the side of Dairy Mart, Cleveland Avenue. Several of the juveniles ducked out of sight when they noticed the officer. The officer checked the area and located two juvenile females, both age 15 of Amherst. An investigation was conducted and the juveniles were issued citations for Curfew and Possession of Tobacco Products. Drug Possession charges are pending at this time. |
