On Sunday, April 12, 2009, at approximately 1:09am, an officer, while on patrol on South Leavitt Road near Park Avenue, observed a vehicle weaving from side to side within its northbound lane of travel.  The vehicle also appeared to be accelerating at a high rate of speed.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, EXPUNGED, age 42of Lorain, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle intoxicated, Speed, and Weaving.

On Sunday, April 12, 2009, at approximately 2:34am, an officer, while on patrol near Park Lanes Bar on Park Avenue, observed a male, later identified as George Gray, age 23 of Vermilion, yelling obscene language at another male in an attempt to incite a violent reaction.  An investigation was conducted and Mr. Gray was cited for Disorderly Conduct Intoxication.

On Sunday, April 12, 2009, at approximately 3:27am, an officer, while on patrol on Maple Street and West Street, was flagged down by a taxi cab driver who advised he observed two males running toward a vehicle near the Amherst City Lot # 3, and that one of the males had his pants unzipped and the other appeared to be acting suspicious.  The males matched the description of two males another officer had dealt with approximately fifteen minuets earlier and that the one male was advised not to drive due to his intoxicated state.  The officers then observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Park Avenue matching the vehicle description given to them.  A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation was conducted.  The driver, Benjamin Duensing, age 24 of Wakeman, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, BAC over .170%, and Failure to Comply.

On Monday, April 13, 2009, at 9:48pm, officers copied radio traffic from the Lorain County Sheriff's Department regarding being involved in a pursuit with a vehicle on North Ridge Road.  Throughout the pursuit, officers were advised that the suspect vehicle nearly caused several accidents and was refusing to comply with the lawful order of a police officer.  An officer began traveling southbound on North Lake Street to assist in placing stop sticks out but was nearly struck head on by the suspect vehicle at Milan Avenue and North Main Street.  The officer finally caught up with the vehicle on West Martin at Woodbridge and the driver, William Taylor, age 27 of Sheffield Lake, was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order of a Police Officer, Drug Paraphernalia, Obstructing Official Business and Driving Under Suspension.
